In the 10th episode, which aired on the 31st, Kang Hyo-min (Jeong Chae-yeon) faced his past as a school violence bystander and grew up as a lawyer again, taking responsibility for the client who was identified as the perpetrator of the murder. After hesitating about the incident, he was deeply guilty of realizing that his client was a victim of a school violence and that he was a bystander who had turned a blind eye to the scene in the past. Kang Hyo-min visited his client immediately and offered a sincere apology, and finally decided to fulfill his responsibility in the face of his earnest request to plead not guilty to murder.
Kang Hyo-min paid attention to the requirement for the establishment of murder. The client's blunt instrument hit the victim was an injury, and the death was based on a traffic accident that occurred during the victim's jaywalk. In the process, her mother Choi Eun-hee (played by Yoon Yoo-sun) helped her by reporting that the victim had repeatedly violated traffic laws in the past, and even secured CCTV footage to complete the logic.
Crucially, Kang Hyo-min released a video of school violence 12 years ago and a normal client before the damage to the court. The painful argument that society turned a blind eye to victims of school violence eventually made today's tragedy touched the court. The judge also accepted Kang Hyo-min's detailed argument and admitted only injury and manslaughter, not murder, and the client smiled for the first time and left viewers heartbroken.
The episode, which pointed out not only individual mistakes but also the responsibility of society to think about together, left a deep lingering impression on viewers. In particular, Kang Hyo-min, who faced past mistakes and was reborn as a true lawyer rather than a bystander, is said to have shown the essence of the growth narrative.
Meanwhile, the 10th episode of 'Beyond The Bar' broke its own record with 9.9% of viewers in the Seoul metropolitan area and 9.1% nationwide, and the highest ratings per minute soared to 11% in the Seoul metropolitan area. The 2049 target audience also proved its popularity, recording 3% in the Seoul metropolitan area and 3.1% in the country. (Based on Nielsen Korea)
