The story of a woman with her son buried in her chest while blooming in a mountain after a reverse immigration

In KBS1 'Human Theater', which will be broadcast on the 15th, the episode 'Deresa is back' that tells the story of Jeong Deresa, who lives growing flowers in a deep mountain valley.

# Theresa is back

Chung Deresa (63) is busy in the morning. Not only two cats, but also chickens, dogs, goats, and donkeys, it's easy to take care of the animal family's breakfast. Deresa, who lives in a mountain valley in Yeongcheon, North Gyeongsang Province with her mother Kim Jeong-soon (86), realizing her dream before returning to Korea, said she lived in California until five years ago. When his second child was about to die, Deresa left her short marriage behind and went on an immigration journey with her two sons. Immigration life, which had left to find a new breakthrough in life, was harsh.

I had to do whatever I could to make money to raise my two sons while being responsible for my own livelihood. The children who have been raised through all kinds of hardships have become independent, and Theresa has come to think about how to live meaningfully in the second half of her life. Naturally, I thought of my mother alone in Korea, and I chose reverse immigration with the idea of going back and serving her. The mother also broke up with her husband at a young age, and even her only daughter, Theresa, sent her father when she was young, living alone all her life. Deresa, who left her mother's arms early, returned to her mother's side at the age when her gray hair became mature.

Mr. Deresa, who first settled in Waegwan with his mother. I built a pretty country house and opened a small cafe, but it didn't go as well as I thought. While struggling and adapting to Korean life, sudden news came from the United States. His eldest son died in a sudden accident at the young age of 26. It was two years after Mr. Deresa returned to Korea. I blamed myself for leaving my children behind, and the meaning of life disappeared and the hellish day began.

I wanted to hide from people because I felt guilty about eating and laughing in front of my children. Thinking that I should go deeper into the mountains, I organized the cafe and the house, and still came to Yeongcheon for a year, and although I had never built a farm before, I built a small house and started flower farming. As I was busy raising flowers and animals, my despair gradually subsided and I gained the strength to live little by little. It still hurts, but now he is learning to live with his son in his heart.

Deresa returned to Korea and lived in the same house with her mother again. It wasn't easy to cross the river for a long time and be with my mother. The time away was too long, so I bumped into everything. So when moving to Yeongcheon, the mother and daughter chose to live 'separately and together'. They built two small houses within one fence and decided to live separately in their own spaces. They don't necessarily try to eat together, but they do it according to their own circumstances. Living separately as a neighbor made it much more fun and comfortable.

Deresa is responsible for the flower farming that has been a little over a year. There are still many trials and errors, but they are consistently shipped to the Seoul flower market twice a week. I am living with a warm Korean affection by getting close to my neighbors and drinking makgeolli together when I have time and getting help if something difficult happens.

At the end of summer, when the heat recedes, let's enter the flower garden of Mr. Deresa, who is blooming beautiful flowers even on barren land.
