Actor Lee Hak-joo met a new life character through JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama 'Squire: Lawyers Dreaming of becoming a Lawyer' (scripted by Park Mi-hyun, directed by Kim Jae-hong, produced by BA Entertainment, SLL, Studio S, co-produced by Story Oreum). He, who has always drawn attention as a dark or intense villain character, expanded his spectrum as an actor by transforming into a bright and babbling lawyer in this work.

Lee Hak-joo met with Sports Chosun at the SM C&C building in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 9th and responded to the end of the work.

The final episode of 'Esquire', which ended on the 7th, ended with 9.1% of viewers in the metropolitan area and 8.4% nationwide. In the play, Lee Jin-woo, played by Lee Hak-joo, gained support from viewers by achieving a crush through a romance 10 years younger than Heo Min-jeong (Jeon Hye-bin). The ending of the proposal, which burst out like a firecracker, is also a famous scene showing the true value of Lee Hak-joo.

In an interview, Lee Hak-ju said "The setting of 10 years older was burdensome when I first received the script. I also thought it might be difficult to accept realistically. However, I focused on showing the authenticity of love between characters."

In fact, he married an older wife and said, "There was only attraction between men and women, but age did not matter. I've never been particularly conscious that my wife is older."

He also laughed when asked about his wife's reaction. "The romance scene with Jeon Hye-bin was embarrassing to watch together, but my wife enjoyed it from the viewers' point of view. When I saw the proposal scene, I made it simple for our wedding, but it was fancy in the dramaRather, he said it was good." Regarding the behind-the-scenes footage of the kiss scene, he even led Jeon Hye-bin to the hand gesture so that she could be captured beautifully on camera. He was very considerate of me for my lack of romance experience," he said, expressing his gratitude.

Lee Jin-woo, played by Lee Hak-ju, is a third-year lawyer at the law firm 'Yulim', acting as an intermediate bridge between seniors and juniors and showed stable teamwork. He showed a strong seniority to his juniors and drew a hot romance with his colleague Heo Min-jeong, adding vitality to the play. He was also afraid of having many lines of legal terminology, but he repeatedly mastered it, trying to understand the case itself. I wanted to maintain a bright energy as the center of the Songmu team", he explained.

Lee Hak-joo cited the fact that the character's personality change had a positive effect on the actor himself as the reason why this work was special.

He said "The set was always heavy while playing villain characters. But this time, I'm bright because I'm a bright character, so I'm brighter myself. He confessed that his facial expression changed at home and his wife liked the change. In fact, he talks a lot because he is a chatterbox. He laughed, "I tend to make it obvious even when I do housework, so I'm close to Egennam."

The audience's response was also hot. "Fans from various countries left comments on my SNS, and I was most surprised to see a Brazilian fan leaving a comment saying, "I love you"." It was amazing and thankful that you were cheering for us from the other side of the world." There are also many people who recognize coffee shops or running. It was really real when they only heard and recognized my voice at the checkout counter," he added.

Finally, he mentioned the lessons learned from this work. "I thought I wanted to be a senior like Jinwoo's character. I learned a lot from taking care of my surroundings and brightening the atmosphere. As an actor and as a husband of a family, I gained confidence,' he said. Then "Love is still expressed only in words such as passion, waiting, and consideration. I have to visit you a little more, but I'm getting the answer in my life with my wife."
