In this regard, Song Joong-ki said at the production presentation that "My Youth" is a calm and warm drama. Rather than a fancy device, it conveys excitement through relationships and lines," he said. "It's the first melodrama in nine years, so I want viewers to feel the feelings of their first love anew."
JTBC's Friday series is a newly introduced program and is characterized by two consecutive broadcasts every Friday. However, as the previous work 'Good Guy' remained at the highest viewer rating of 3.2%, 'My Youth' also has the task of rebounding in viewership.

The movie was directed by Byun Young-joo of the movie 『Hwacha" and Lee Young-jong of 『Seoul Spring』 tried to write the first drama, which was highly anticipated even before the broadcast. It tells the story of a serial killer who killed five perpetrators of abuse of women and children more than 20 years ago and imprisoned by his son Cha Soo-yeol working together to investigate copycat crimes.
Ko Hyun-jung took on an unconventional transformation as a brutal killer and mother, Jeong In-shin. Jang Dong-yoon plays the role of Cha Soo-yeol, a detective who hates his mother but pursues the truth. In addition, Cho Seong-ha and EL joined to predict synergy in acting.
At the production presentation, Ko Hyun-jung said, `Jung Shin is a complicated person who is a murderer to someone but can be revered to someone else.' `Please watch why he made that choice, not just how many people he killed.'
SBS Friday-Saturday drama has aired various popular works one after another and is known as a ratings guarantee check. The previous work 'Tri: We Become a Miracle' also achieved compliance with 6.8%. Analysts say that the joining of the trend could put pressure on JTBC 'My Youth' from the beginning.
On the other hand, JTBC's Friday series tried to differentiate itself with a new attempt of airing two consecutive episodes once a week, but has not produced any results yet. Attention is focusing on whether Song Joong-ki's return to the melodrama genre for the first time in nine years and his breathing with Chun Woo-hee will revitalize the Friday series.
Expectations are high on what report cards the two works, which are based on the emotions of both extremes, Melo and Thriller, will accept in the afternoon of the 5th.
