The horror ghost talk show MBC 'Late Night Ghost Story' will be reborn as a short-form drama.

MBC 'Night Ghost Story', a representative horror program in Korea that began with Season 1 in 2021, is currently being loved by fans every Sunday night.

The ghost story, which will be reborn as a short-form drama this time, is 'Night Ghost Story'One of the most popular episodes in the seasons 1 to 5, and is reborn as a short-form drama 'Swamp of Eating People: 'Night 殺鬼'.




This is the first short-form drama to be introduced by MBC and will be released worldwide after being released in Japan on the 10th through the Japanese short-drama platform 'Kanta'. 'Kanta' is a short-drama platform for the global content company 'Liddy'.

The short-form drama 'The Swamp of Eating People: The Origins of the Water 殺鬼' stars MBC's Late Night Ghost Story' and depicts the mysterious events and dark psychology inside humans at the reservoir's salmock, Korea's representative horror spot. Beyond the existing framework of short-form horror, it is expected to provide viewers with a new horror experience with immersive narratives and intense horror production.

In particular, this work is drawing attention as it was produced in collaboration between the two directors specialized in the horror genre. Producer Park Jong-eun of MBC, who directed Season 4 of the 'Night Ghost Story' and director Kim Seung-tae, who drew attention for the horror film 'Gumunbang' at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, co-directed the film to maximize genre details and visual tension. In addition, it is explained that the degree of completion has been improved through joint production with CAC Corporation, which has produced a number of short-form dramas.




On top of that, actor Ko Yeon-kyung and actor Lee Baul, who showed impressive performances in MBC'Night Ghost Story' for reality, appeared to increase the sense of immersion in the play, and actor Lee Jung-joon, who has played in various works such as 'Squid Game' and 'Celebrity', joined the new team to complete a tense synergy.

MBC plans to expand its scope into the full-fledged short-form drama content market by planning short-form dramas of various genres while proving its potential in the horror genre through this 'Salmokji' project.
