Intimate Ripley visits the small screen with a tense narrative of two women living a false life.
The online production presentation of KBS2's new daily drama 'Intimate Ripley' was held on the 22nd. Actors Isiah, Lee Il-hwa, Lee Seung-yeon, Choi Jong-hwan, Jeong Se-hwan, Han Ki-woong, Lee Hyo-na and director Son Seok-jin attended the scene.
The first broadcast of this day is about Ripley, a mother and daughter Ripley, who met in a relationship with a high father, fighting a lie war to win the dry house, and director Son Seok-jin, who directed the drama special 'Find Handsome', 'Witch's Game', 'Secrets and Lies', and 'Family Secrets'.

Isiah and Lee Il-hwa work together as 'Mother and Daughter Ripley' Isiah played Cha Jung-won, who starts a dangerous false life to avenge his father who was framed for murder and his biological mother who abandoned him. He "As soon as I read the script, I had so much fun that I wondered which writer wrote it. The relationship with all the characters is twisted, and it's all probable and convincing. I thought this drama would go really well, and I was looking forward to the next episode while reading the script. Cha Jeong-won is a daughter of a poor family who is treated with contempt and generosity, and she seemed to be able to show the process of entering the chaebol family's house in various ways," he said.
On the part that focuses on acting, the character Cha Jung-won is a friend who grew up under the killer's father and works in a poor laundry house. "The role of meeting a friend of a chaebol house by chance and pretending to be a chaebol house" he explained. "I replaced those feelings and happy feelings with the thought that I did not want to go back to the difficult times in my life. "

Lee Il-hwa played the new wife and vice-chairman of Geonhyang Group Chairman Jin Tae-seok, and the mother-in-law and birth mother of Cha Jung-won. As for how he joined the work, he said, "I loved the title so much, and although it's a personal story, I gained trust and faith by working with the artist on the three works. When asked if he had any concerns while playing the character, Lee Il-hwa replied "I had a lot of worries." He said "I came to KBS drama and abandoned my child three times. I wondered what I would do if I was imprinted in the image of a mother, but I wanted to draw a character that could comfort and heal even those who were hurt by separation. I hope viewers can heal by watching an episode. With the thought of it as my last one-day drama, I wanted to do my best to act until the last scene."
Lee Seung-yeon, who returned to KBS's daily drama for the first time in six years, said "I was worried a lot because I was not confident because I had never played a role before. However, I read the script from Part 1 to 20 while sitting down, and when I saw director Son Seok-jin for the first time, I thought 'This person will only walk on the flower road in the future. Watching the actors together, I felt that even if I'm not good enough, I can put a spoon on it."
Lee Seung-yeon turned into a villain named Gong Nan-sook, who is full of venom and even abandons her daughter for desire. He is a character who is outspoken and has accomplished everything he wants. In a way, it's a bit pernicious. Lee Il-hwa is said to have abandoned her child three times only in KBS dramas, but I raised her with a crooked motherhood. Jeong Se-hwan and Han Ki-woong shoot women's hearts with their extreme love for Isiah. Jung-hwan will play Joo Ha-neul, the son of investment firm The Crown Capital and the stepbrother of Cha Jung-won's friend, and Han Ki-woong will play Jin Se-hoon, Han Hye-ra's stepson and tycoon's successor. Choi Jong-hwan played Jin Tae-seok, the husband of Geonhyang Group and Han Hye-ra, who hides a cold-blooded personality behind a gentle and smart businessman, and Lee Hyo-na, who was selected through a high 100-1 competition, played Joo Young-chae, the daughter of Gong Nan-sook and a friend who makes Cha Jung-won's false life possible.
Finally, director Sohn said about the point of view of the work "The most impressive part when I first saw the script was that the speed (of the story) was fast." It didn't feel stuffy at all. The daily soap opera is taken with a long breath, so the story sometimes stagnates in the middle, and the author pierced that part well. Another one is 'Ripley', 'Lie'. None of the people sitting here have a single proud character. It's a completely different result from what you've shown so far," he said, asking viewers to look forward to it.
Meanwhile, 'Intimate Ripley' will air on KBS2 at 7:50 p.m. on weekdays from the 22nd.
