First of all, at 9 a.m. on October 9th, a special documentary on Hangul Day featuring the 'Hangul Settlement period' of multicultural families rooted and living in Korea? Hangeul' will be broadcast.
Hello, Hangeul is set at Bosan Elementary School in Dongducheon, Gyeonggi-do, where more than 60% of all students come from multicultural families from 25 countries, and highlights the process of children from multicultural families who are still poor in Korean learning Korean in school and daily life and adapting to Korean society.
In particular, special Korean language classes using 'AI' for children attract attention. In the class, which was attended by MBC Kim Joon-sang, Park Ji-min, announcer Ko Kang-yong, and Korean language and computer staff, children write letters and diaries in Korean and learn how to type in Korean with the help of 'AI', challenging Korean writing more easily.
This Hangul Day special documentary 'Hello? Hangeul' shows that Hangul goes beyond a simple writing system, and is a bridge where people from different backgrounds and cultures become one and the basis for forming an identity. It also reminds us that Hangul is a valuable cultural heritage that we should all keep together and a language of hope for a future where we coexist by embracing differences through the growth process of children's poor Korean language.
In addition, during Hangul Week (Oct. 9 to Oct. 17), a reading program of MBC announcers in the form of 'ShortformHangul, Bloom with Your Voice-Hangul' will be organized.
Seven children's literature works that parents and children can read together will be introduced in five minutes of short-form content, along with beautiful Korean sentences such as
To this end, MBC announcers Lee Jung-min, Jeon Jong-hwan, Kim Na-jin, Kim Cho-long, Oh Seung-hoon, Jung Da-hee, and Um Joo-won and their children are expected to appear together to convey the beauty, emotion and sound of Korean sentences to viewers with a friendly and clear voice. In addition to this, the colorful screen implemented as 'AI' will provide viewers with a different pleasure of the program.
'Hangul Blooming with Your Voice - The happier you read, the happier you are' was produced as part of the 2025 Hangul Week Culture and Arts Event Support Project hosted by the Korean Cultural Center Association of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the special documentary on Hangul Day 'Hello? Hangeul' was completed with the production support of Hangeul and Computer Co., Ltd.
