According to Nielsen Korea on the 7th, the 42nd episode of 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator' aired on the 6th recorded 8.861% of the nation's paid broadcasting households. This is a whopping 7.4 percentage points jump from last week's 41st (1.4%) and is its highest ratings since the program resumed.
On this day, President Lee Jae-myung and First Lady Kim Hye-kyung appeared under the theme of 「Choo-seok Special, Please Take Care of K-Food」, attracting great attention even before the broadcast. The two showed different chemistry by talking about various things, from casual daily stories to food tastes and the couple's meal times. As a program called the 'National Refrigerator Talk Show', the appearance of President Lee Jae-myung and his wife went beyond political symbols and became a stage for communication with the people.
What's interesting is that the ratings have skyrocketed despite the change in programming. Originally, the episode was scheduled to air on the 5th, but it was postponed by 10 p.m. on the 6th at the request of the presidential office in the aftermath of the death of a public official related to a national computer network disorder. Despite the unusual change in organization, interest in the "Lee Jae-myung couple's refrigerator" has grown.
Meanwhile, 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator' is a food talk show in which representative Korean chefs compete for cooking with only ingredients in the guest's refrigerator, and airs every Sunday at 9 p.m.
