'Would You Marry Me' Enters Second Act With Rising Ratings and Intensifying Romance

SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'WJMerimi' will open the second act in earnest around the halfway point.

In last week's broadcast, Kim Woo-joo (Choi Woo-sik) awakened her feelings for Yumeri (Jeong So-min) and raised the excitement of viewers with a frank confession.

Woo-ju expressed jealousy at Mary's nursing ex-fiancee Kim Woo-ju (Seo Bum-joon) "I guess I like Mary. I don't want to be with another man," he confessed, and the two's fiery romance revealed Mary's ex-husband and uncle Jang Han-gu (Kim Young-min), signaling a strong upset in their disguised honeymoon.

Since turning the halfway point, "Universe Merimi" has been on the rise in both ratings and buzz. As of October 27, it topped the world wide chart in the Disney+ TV show category (based on Netflix Patrol), and the last six episodes recorded a national viewership of 9.7% (based on Nielsen Korea). The 2049 target audience also achieved its own record of 2.3%, overwhelming competitors at the same time, proving its popularity.

The main point of the second act is the relentless straight romance of the universe. After finding out that her first love, the Ki-ring girl, was Mary, Woo-ju is more immersed in 'disguised newlyweds', revealing her straight instinct generously. Woo-joo, who is convinced that her feelings are love, not just goodwill, is expected to increase the heart rate of viewers by going straight to Mary in a more friendly and honest manner. Attention is focusing on how Mary will react to Woo-ju's confession and how the disguised honeymoon romance will progress.

Here, the existence of Woo-ju (Seo Bum-joon), Mary's husband and ex-fiancee, becomes a new variable. It's only a matter of time before the ex-fiancé recognizes the reality of space and Mary's 'disguised newlyweds'. Tensions are growing over how his appearance will affect the romance between the two, and even Mary's honeymoon.

Another variable is the misdeeds of the universe's great-uncle. Han-gu is the mastermind behind the death of Woo-ju's parents and is currently embezzling money from Myung-soon Party. With no one in the family knowing his true nature, questions are mounting about how Hangu's identity will be revealed in the future and how it will affect the fate of the universe and Mary.

Finally, viewers pay attention to whether Woo-joo and Mary can protect their love and also defend their 'new marriage house'. Mary, who suffered damage from lease fraud, had a chance to turn around her life by winning a prize for her honeymoon house, and the two began a 90-day fake honeymoon. It is expected that Woo-ju and Mary, who gradually approach each other's sincerity through disguised newlyweds, will be able to overcome the crisis until the end, and unpredictable development and reversal are expected.

'WJMerimi' airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m. on SBS.
