The 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony was held at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the 19th.
In this year's Best Director category, there was a fierce competition with the names of Mingyu-dong 'Face'Yeon Sang-ho 'Zombie's Daughter'Feeling, 'Harbin'Woo Min-ho, and director Park Chan-wook 'I can't help it.' Among them, director Park Chan-wook was honored with the final award.
Director Park Chan-wook drew a high degree of perfection by reinterpreting the black humor and reality satire of the original novel with his own sense through the film 'I Can't Help It'.
Actor Lee Sung-min took the stage on behalf of director Park Chan-wook to express his feelings for the award.
Lee Seong-min says there's nothing he can do about the movie' is the result of the director's dream that he has had for 20 years. In the end, I don't know how proud I was to make this story into a Korean movie. I'm happy. Because the actors and staff were together." Then "The director and we tried to make the story, which initially seemed simple and comical, feel more complex and tragic as it repeats. I believe that the judges recognized that and that I will receive this award with a grateful heart," he said.
The 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards will be presented by actors Han Ji-min and Lee Je-hoon following last year, and will present a total of 18 categories, including the most spectator awards and the Cheongjeongwon Popular Star Award, for Korean films released in domestic theaters and OTT from October 11, 2024 to October 7, 2025.
