The 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony was held at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the 19th.
Director Soyeon Kim's 'Rotari's Hanchul' tells the story of Hanchul, who has been running a small neighborhood supermarket for decades in Hoengseong, Gangwon-do, facing old and broken things in the supermarket and looking back on his life. It was well received for its work that delicately depicts the emotions that bloom in everyday life and the weight of time.
Director Soyeon Kim, who directed the film, said "This movie is a non-professional actor who has never stood in front of the camera and is a pushover with his family. From the time I decided to shoot a movie, I was afraid that my choice was wrong. Nevertheless, it was thanks to my grandfather and father who had the courage to stand in front of the camera. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude." I would like to thank my beloved family members watching in Hoengseong and Hongcheon, Gangwon-do, my hometown friends, Yongin University's video department friends, and friends. I am also grateful to my friends who made the movie together. I will think about whether the choices I make are right in the future, but I want to go step by step and make a movie that I don't doubt," he added.
The 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards will be presented by actors Han Ji-min and Lee Je-hoon following last year, and will present a total of 18 categories, including the most spectator awards and the Cheongjeongwon Popular Star Award, for Korean films released in domestic theaters and OTT from October 11, 2024 to October 7, 2025.
