At around 9:03 a.m. on the 29th, a Jeju Air 7C2216 plane from Bangkok, Thailand, crashed into a wall outside the airport and exploded while attempting to land at Muan International Airport in Mangun-myeon, Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do. Out of a total of 181 passengers, 179 were killed. The two surviving crew members are being treated.
