The music video for BTS Jin's second mini album 'Echo' title song 'Don't Say You Love Me' was released at 1 p.m. on the 16th. It was a work that drew great attention with just one teaser video of Jin and actor Shin Se-kyung, who played as lovers, facing each other without saying anything.
The music video begins with the estranged gaze of a lover at the crossroads of separation. Shin Se-kyung leaves in a car, and Jin's expression looking at it is calm. Then, Jin's boring daily life, which is left alone, intersects with his past lover's joyful moments, calmly illuminating the loss of the relationship.
The two reunite in the exhibition hall like fate. Jin runs with Shin Se-kyung's hand as if he has decided something. And they share happy moments and scarred times together, developing waves of heart toward each other.
The story goes back to the first scene of the music video. Now, Jin does not drop her head while looking at her leaving lover, and starts running toward her, overwhelming viewers. And the two are sitting in the car together. There is still an awkward atmosphere, but the appearance of not letting go of each other still leaves a deep lingering impression until the end.
Filmed against the backdrop of Singapore's beautiful scenery, the music video of 'Don't Say You Love Me' increases the level of immersion with a solid story and a delicate emotional performance of the two. Jin's expression that expresses his complex inner side, the narrative that reflects the wounds and tangled emotional lines left for each other, harmonizes with the atmosphere of the song.
