'2025 APEC MUSIC FESTA’ to Showcase K-Pop and Cultural Exchange at Gyeongju



A large-scale K-pop concert commemorating the 2025 APEC Summit, '2025 APEC MUSIC FESTA' will be held at Gyeongju Civic Stadium on Friday, October 10. As the chair of APEC, it is meaningful as an official cultural event to introduce Korean pop culture together at a meeting with leaders from around the world and foreign officials. In addition, it is expected to be a special stage where international conferences and cultural exchanges are harmonized. The '2025 APEC MUSIC FESTA' is co-hosted by North Gyeongsang Province and Gyeongju City, and is operated in cooperation with the APEC Summit Preparation Committee. The stage will feature a variety of artists, including Billie, NCT WISH, YENA, ONF, ONEUS, WEi, USPEER, Izna, JUNG DAE HYUN, KickFlip, HA SUNG WOON, H1-KEY, and Hearts2Hearts. The lineup, which encompasses generations and styles, will be a key stage to showcase the wide world of K-pop.

Starting with KBS2 at 11:10 p.m. on October 21, 'APEC MUSIC FESTA' will be aired worldwide on KBSN and KBS World channels. In particular, the KBS World YouTube channel has 20.3 million subscribers, so domestic and foreign viewers who are unable to join the site are expected to share the impression of the global festival through various methods.




In addition, as a special program for the APEC Music Festa, 'Woman On Music (WOM)' will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, October 24 at Bomun Lake Water Stage. The 90-minute stage is expected to feature representative female artists from five countries, including Korea, China, Japan, Russia, and Vietnam, to deliver a message of hope for future generations, serving as a symbolic stage for international cultural exchange during the APEC summit.

In response, a source at the event said, "2025 APEC Music Festa" will be a venue for showcasing Korea's cultural potential to the world beyond just concerts. "The central government, local governments, and the private sector are working closely together to make the key words of the APEC summit 'Connection, Innovation, and Prosperity' into the language of culture." Detailed programs, viewing information, and transportation and safety measures of '2025 APEC MUSIC FESTA' will be released sequentially through official channels in the future.

Meanwhile, the Shilla Cultural Festival will be held in Gyeongju from Oct. 10-12, the same day. It is a representative cultural festival that presents a modern reinterpretation of Gyeongju's traditions and history, and will be followed by various programs such as traditional and modern performances, street art, and Silk Road Festa against the backdrop of Woljeonggyo Bridge. With the Shilla Cultural Festival and APEC Music Festa held together, Gyeongju is expected to be a special festival venue where history and popular culture coexist.
