With the death of clone Koo Joon-yeop's wife Seo Hee-won, it was analyzed that the bereaved family could pay quite a lot of inheritance tax.

According to local media such as Taiwan's ETA Today, Lee Eui-ryeong, head of the veterinary designation office, calculated the inheritance tax on the real estate owned by Seo Hee-won. Seo Hee-won reportedly owned a real estate worth about 1 billion Taiwanese dollars during his lifetime. Among them, real estate in Taipei is estimated to be worth about 600 million Taiwanese dollars (about 26.484 billion won). However, when calculating the inheritance tax, it is calculated based on the published present value, not the market price, which is generally about half of the market price, so the inheritance value of Taipei real estate is about 300 million Taiwanese dollars (12.32 billion won).

Under Taiwan's current property tax law, taxes are imposed after deducting various tax exemptions and benefits from total property. In the case of Seo Hee-won, the personal tax exemption amount is 13.33 million dollars (about 588.25 million won) and the spouse deduction is 5.53 million dollars (about 244.4 million won). Two underage children will also be deducted $4.48 million (about 197.7 million won) and 5.6 million Taiwanese dollars (about 247.13 million won), respectively, depending on their age, while Seo Hee-won's mother will be deducted $1.38 million (about 68.9 million won) by meeting the requirements for support. Funeral expenses will also be deducted 1.39 million dollars (about 61.34 million won). The total deduction amount is about 31.7 million Taiwanese dollars (about 1.4 billion won).

Inheritance tax will be imposed on the remaining 268.3 million Taiwanese dollars (about 11.184 billion won) after deducting this 31.7 million Taiwanese dollars from the 300 million Taiwanese dollar real estate inheritance. According to the tax rate regulation, a 20% tax rate will be applied to those whose inheritance exceeds 112.42 million dollars (about 4.96109 million won). When calculated, the total inheritance amount is about 45.23 million Taiwanese dollars (about 2 billion won). However, if the total amount of Seo Hee-won's inheritance and other assets, including cash stocks, reaches 400 million Taiwanese dollars (about 17.656 billion won), the taxable amount will increase to 368.3 million Taiwanese dollars (about 16.25 billion won), and the final inheritance tax could reach up to 65.23 million dollars (about 2.87925 billion won).

Seo Hee-won passed away during a trip to Japan on the 2nd. Since then, concerns have been raised that since Seo Hee-won had a fortune worth 120 billion won, and because Koo Joon-yeop is not the children's biological father, Wang So-bi, could take two-thirds of the children's parental rights, custody and inheritance.

In response, Koo Jun-yeop said on the 6th that he intends to give all the authority over me to his mother-in-law among the legacies left by Seo Hee-won. The authority of children is to take legal action to protect their children into adulthood through lawyers to keep bad people out of touch" he said.
