Five Newzins Members Appear in Court In-person for Adore Disposition Inquiry

Five Newzins members who declared their independent activities under the activity name 'NJZ' attended the court in person to participate in the prohibition of activities filed by their agency, Adore.

The Seoul Central District Court's Civil Agreement Department 50 (Chief Judge Kim Sang-hoon) held an interrogation date on the 7th of Adore's request for provisional injunction against the five members of New Jeans, such as preserving agency status and signing advertising contracts.

Although there is no obligation to attend the provisional interrogation, the members reportedly came to the court to attend the trial in person. The interrogation is a procedure for collecting data by listening to statements from parties, stakeholders, and reference persons in addition to written hearings prior to the decision on provisional injunction.




At the trial, Odor argued that "'Hive hates Newzins, discriminates against him, and it does not make sense that a profit-seeking private company buries its sole and major source of revenue on its own.'"

In response, the members responded, "'The essence of the case is that Hive and Adore tried to discriminate against and reject Newgins, replace them with other groups, and discard them.'"

Earlier, five members of the New Jeans began their own activities in November last year, saying that the contract was terminated due to the violation of the exclusive contract of Audor. In December of the same year, Adore filed a lawsuit against the members in the Seoul Central District Court for the validity of the exclusive contract, and in January, he applied for a prohibition on the preservation of the status of an agency and the conclusion of an advertising contract with the aim of `preventing members from signing their own advertising contracts.'




Since then, the members of the Newzins have changed their activity name to 'NJZ' in February, and they have also announced a Hong Kong performance from the 21st to the 23rd. On February 11, Adore expanded the purpose of applying for a provisional injunction, saying, `Please ban music activities such as writing, composing, and singing of Newzins.'
