Singer-actor Lee Seung-ki's father-in-law and actor Lee Da-in's father-in-law were arrested for his involvement in the alleged manipulation of the stock price of renewable energy quantapia.

According to a Newsis report on the 29th, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Ahn Chang-joo) received an arrest warrant from the court for Lee, who is suspected of violating the Capital Markets and Financial Investment Business Act. The prosecution reportedly requested a warrant after questioning Lee, saying there was a concern that it could destroy evidence.

Prosecutors reportedly found circumstantial evidence that Lee was involved in stock price manipulation while investigating the KOSDAQ Quantafia market manipulation case filed by the Securities and Futures Commission. In November last year, the prosecution handed over nine daily workers accused of illegally earning 20 billion won by artificially promoting the stock price of Quantafia. Lee reportedly denied the indictment at the first hearing in February.




Before the news of the father-in-law's arrest was announced, Lee Seung-gi said in a statement earlier in the day that `Although he was fined in the revocation and remand trial for illegal matters that had been continuously raised against his father-in-law, he was recently prosecuted by the investigative agency again due to similar misconduct. The family's trust has been undermined to a level that is difficult to recover due to this incident, and my couple wants to sever their relationship with their in-laws after a long period of thought."

Lee is also on trial for allegedly operating a KOSDAQ listed company from 2014 to 2016 and artificially inflated stock prices to sell shares and earn unfair profits. The case was found not guilty in the second trial, but was destroyed and returned to the Supreme Court last year for the purpose of maintaining it.
