A mortuary for actor Lee Il-jae, who died after battling lung cancer, was set up at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital of Catholic University in Seocho-gu, Seoul on the 5th. He was 59. The coffin is set at 8:30 a.m. on the 7th, and the burial site is Yongin Catholic Park.

In 2019, Lee Il-jae's agency said "Lee Il-jae died early that day after battling lung cancer."

Lee Il-jae, whose condition rapidly deteriorated while battling lung cancer, died quietly after being hospitalized in a hospice ward and spending time with his family.




At the time, an official expressed regret, saying, `My health has recently deteriorated due to various problems such as complications, and it has been only a few days since I was hospitalized in the hospice ward.'

Lee Il-jae, who made his face known in the 1990 film 『The Son of a General』, was loved a lot by appearing in 'The Wild Age', 'The Unmanned Age', 'Jang Gil-san', 'Yeon Gaesomun', 'King and I'King Sejong'.

In addition, the late Lee Il-jae appeared on tvN 'Destine Escape 3' before his death and received a lot of support for his recovery after being diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.




At the time, he appeared with his two teenage daughters and wife and did not announce the fact that he was fighting the disease because he did not want to worry about his surroundings. With the determination to live unconditionally, I devoted myself to treatment, thinking of my family" he confessed.

Then "I'm going to go back to work when my face gets better."I burned my passion for acting, but in the end, I couldn't overcome the disease and left our side.

Colleagues who left the deceased also remembered and upset him with numerous memorials in sorrow.
