Yoon Yeo-jeong, gay eldest son, I love my son-in-law more than my first confession son

Actress Yoon Yeo-jeong (77) revealed her son's coming out for the first time in a movie promotion interview.

Recently, Yoon Yo-jung recently interviewed with People magazine, Variety, and the South China Morning Post (SCMP) in the United States to reveal her background and personal story in the movie 'Marriage Wedding Party'.

She told People magazine that `My personal life is very closely linked to this movie"Korea is still a conservative society. Many are unable to identify themselves as gay, even to their families."

"My eldest son happened to be gay, and the conversation I had with him was reflected in the scene of my conversation with my grandson in the movie."

In the film, Yun Yo-jong warmly embraces his grandson's identity, saying to his gay grandson " (whatever you are) you are my grandson."

Yun Yo-jong says the scene `is from a real conversation with my son.'"I hope the line will comfort someone," he said.

In an interview with SCMP, "My son came out in 2000. At the time, we left Korea for New York, where same-sex marriage was legal, we held our son's wedding."

At the same time, he added with a smile, `I love my son-in-law more than my son now.'

Yoon Yeo-jeong plays the grandmother of the main character in the movie 'Marriage Wedding Banquet'. The film is a remake of Lian's 1993 film of the same name and was reinterpreted as a story of a Korean family, directed by Korean-American director Andrew An. The main touching point is the sincere conversation between grandchildren and grandmothers who plan a fake marriage.

Yoon Yeo-jeong married singer Cho Young-nam in the U.S. in 1975 and had two sons, and raised her children alone after divorcing in 1987.

Winning the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for the 2021 film "Minari," she said at the time that `My two sons always told me to go to work, and this award is thanks to my children's nagging.'

She said of the movie, `I want Korean society to open up a little more""I'm not sure yet if it can actually change. "
