'Squid Game 3' Director Hwang Dong-hyuk looked back on his one-year journey.

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk met with Sports Chosun at a cafe in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 30th and interviewed Netflix's original series 'Squid Game Season 3' (played by Hwang Dong-hyuk, directed by 'Squid Game 3'). Director Hwang said of Lee Jung-jae, who spent all the time together until season 3 "What about Lee Jung-jae "Squid Game"??He is an impossible character. It also symbolizes the weak. Starting with a character that looks too loser-like and pathetic, he gradually expresses his conscience and humanity within him, and at the end of season 1, he realizes the meaning of the game and changes, and completes it in seasons 2 and 3. He was the most changed person, but he expressed it so passionately. I filmed season 2 and season 3 for almost a year, but I only dieted all that season. He only ate vegetables and lived. He went on an extreme diet to express his increasingly dry and squish appearance. Watching him go on a diet for such a long time made me respectful and grateful. In season 1, we still had a chance to eat and drink together, but in season 2 and 3, we didn't eat with us because of our diet and ate separately in the car. It wasn't until the last scene of death that he was able to drink with us. Thank you so much for being so dedicated. I was grateful for myself and this work, and I think I'm an unforgettable person."

Director Hwang then said "I think the filming of the day when the discipline fell is the most memorable." The ending was the most memorable, and of all Ki-hoon's facial expressions I saw, Ki-hoon's last face was the most memorable. Filming was difficult, but the actor also did his best to immerse himself in Sung Ki-hoon's last ending while making that appearance for more than a year, and so did I. I think I thought this was the end. That moment was the most memorable. I drank with Jung Jae for the first time since the end."

Director Hwang thought there was no more 'Squid Game' without Sung Ki-hoon. I wanted to tell the story through one person's journey, so there was no room for any more 'Squid Game'."

Coach Hwang said, "It was so hard filming season 2 and season 3. It's been a long journey. And while filming, I kept revising the script little by little. It was such a long story, and as many characters came out, I could see the inadequacy and imperfections of the script I completed before, and the inspiration that actors showed while acting was gradually supplemented, so I continued to write the script while filming. I had to go back and fix the script, not rest after filming, so there was a moment when I was mentally and physically struggling as I went back."

Director Hwang also said that he lost a lot of weight during the filming. He said "I've had a lot of suggestions from Hollywood, but I'm so tired and I'm putting it off. Originally, I weighed about 62kg, but I lost up to 59kg. I didn't want to go to the 50kg range, but I was shocked when I got on the scale. I think the priority is to recover your body. I'm not reviewing the work right now. For now, I think I'm going to rest a little and get my body back to normal rhythm. I also lost two more teeth, and I still haven't had an implant. My gums are very swollen, but now I don't have much of my natural teeth left."

Squid Game is the world's most beloved Netflix series. Seasons 1 and 2, which created unprecedented syndromes around the world with their ingenious imagination and creative worldview, recorded about 600 million viewers (view time divided by the total running time of the work) in the two seasons. In addition, Season 1 captured both productivity and popularity by being listed as the most popular series of all time on Netflix. Season 2 also scored the highest number of viewers in the first week of its release, and entered the top 10 non-English series three days after its release, and the two seasons set a global milestone as Korean works together, ranking third in Netflix's most popular series.

「Squid Game 3" is a story about Ki-hoon (Lee Jung-jae) who lost his best friend in a game that he participated again with his own purpose, the frontman (Lee Byung-hun), who hid in the game while hiding, and the final fate of the participants who survived the cruel game. Since its release on the 27th, it has been receiving mixed reviews at home and abroad, including favorable reviews and harsh criticism.
