The 50th Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court (Chief Judge Choi Mi-young) ruled on the 4th that in a lawsuit filed by Jang Won-young's agency Starship Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as Starship) against the operator of the Taldeok concentration camp, `A should pay 50 million won to Starship and compensate for delayed interest.'
Mr. A maliciously spread false facts such as Jang Won-young's romantic relationship and bullying, and committed serious defamation. Starship and Jang Won-young received an information order from the U.S. court and secured meaningful information about A from Google headquarters in the U.S., identified A and filed a lawsuit for damages worth 100 million won each. The incident was the first to punish Cyberrekas behind anonymity, and it became a hot topic in the entertainment industry.
In October 2023, the court ruled in favor of some of the plaintiffs in the damages lawsuit filed by Jang Won-young against A. A appealed, but the second trial court sentenced him to pay 50 million won.
Jang Won-young recovered 50 million won in compensation and delayed interest out of 100 million won deposited by A on the 4th.
