Bang Si-hyuk Completes 12.5-Hour Police Investigation, Denies Charges

Hive Chairman Bang Si-hyuk returned home after a 12-and-a-half-hour marathon survey.

Bang Si-hyuk left the Financial Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency after completing the investigation at around 10:34 p.m. on the 22nd. He attended the police behind closed doors at 10 a.m. and was summoned for a second time.

Bang Si-hyuk did not answer any questions such as 'What kind of calling did you make?'Do you admit to investor deception?' and moved quickly with the bodyguard.

It has been only a week since Bang Si-hyuk appeared at the police. On the 15th, he was also investigated for the first suspect in response to the police's public summons.

Police believe that Bang Si-hyuk tricked existing investors into selling their shares to a special purpose corporation (SPC) created by a private equity fund invested by Hive executives in 2019 before Hive was listed, and that he collected about 190 billion won in unfair profits, or 30% of SPC's profits from the sale of Hive shares, under a pre-signed shareholder contract after Hive was listed.

The police raided the Korea Exchange and Hive headquarters to review related data, and plan to decide whether to recall based on Bang Si-hyuk's statement. Bang Si-hyuk currently denies all charges. They say they complied with laws and regulations at the time of Hive's listing.
