Actor Hwang Jung-eum was sentenced to two years in prison and four years of probation in the first trial after being accused of embezzling funds from a one-man agency he was running and investing in virtual assets (cryptocurrency).

On the 25th, the Jeju District Court's Criminal Division 2 (Chief Judge Lim Jae-nam) sentenced Hwang Jeong-eum, who was accused of embezzlement under the Specific Economic Crimes Aggravated Punishment Act, to a suspended sentence, taking into account that the defendant repaid the entire amount and was a first-time offender"It was judged.

Hwang Jung-eum was accused of taking out 800 million won in loans under the name of the agency 'Hunminjeongeum Entertainment', which he owns 100% in 2022, and transferring about 4.2 billion won to his personal account under the name of 'temporary payment' to use it for coin investment.




During the trial, Hwang Jung-eum acknowledged the indictment and said he repaid the entire amount of embezzlement twice in May and June.

"I touched the coin with an inexperienced judgment because I wanted to grow the company," he explained. "There is no harm to third parties."

Immediately after the sentence, Hwang Jung-eum said, `I've never been near the police station before, but I cried when I was in court. I'm sorry to have caused you trouble," he said, showing tears.




The defense also said it respects the court's decision.

Meanwhile, Hwang Jung-eum confirmed her divorce in May after nine years of marriage and is currently raising her two sons alone.
