'Godfather of comedy' Jeon Yu-seong is in a critical condition due to lung pneumothorax. He is known to have difficulty breathing on his own while wearing an oxygen respirator in his hospital bed.

Jeon Yu-seong is currently hospitalized at a general hospital in Jeonju. The medical staff expressed a cautious position, saying, `There is a possibility of recovery depending on the prognosis, but the condition may worsen.' He is conscious, but his condition is critical enough to make it difficult to breathe on his own.

The Korea Broadcasting Comedian Association requested video letters from junior comedians, reporting the news of Jeon Yoo-sung's critical illness.




The association said "He was very happy to receive video support" and "He didn't lose his unique sense of humor even in the hospital bed"

Kim Hak-rae, president of the association, said "Teacher Jeon Yoo-sung asked for a funeral as a comedy cactus, and he wanted an arboretum near Jirisan as a burial ground." His request, which seemed to be preparing for the end of his life, made many juniors cry.

Kim Dae-beom, a former comedy troupe member, said, `Thanks to my teacher, I became a comedian. I can't imagine being sick. I hope you recover like a miracle again this time."




Meanwhile, Jeon Yu-seong underwent pneumothorax surgery in June, but was hospitalized again due to her recent deterioration. In November last year, he also appeared emaciated and reported that he lost 16 kilograms due to acute pneumonia, arrhythmia, and COVID-19, sparking rumors of a critical health condition. On the 24th, Jeon Yoo-sung said "The false rumors are not true", adding "Pneumothorax is being hospitalized and treated and conscious." We are relying on oxygen masks because it is difficult to breathe freely."

Jeon Yu-seong also did not attend the 13th Busan International Comedy Festival ' (BICF, hereinafter 'Bukoffe') for health reasons. Jeon Yoo-sung, honorary chairman of the 'Bukope', was scheduled to host and give a lecture with Lee Hong-ryul and Jeong Sun-hee at the 'Bukope' incident at Dongseo University in Haeundae-gu, Busan on the 6th, but was unable to attend due to health problems.
