“Lee Hong-gi Cast as Lead in Musical ‘Sugar’

'Sugar' is based on the comedy classic 'I Like It's Hot' that has been loved all over the world. Set in the 1929 sobriety era, it gleefully depicts a left-handed happening when two jazz musicians, who happen to witness gang killings, dress up as women to save their lives and join a female band in disguise.
In the play, Lee Hong-ki plays Jo (Josephin), a romantic saxophonist who tries to dress up as a woman to live. Joe's complexity with sharp intelligence and delightful unexpected charm will be shown through deep acting.
In the meantime, Lee Hong-ki has shown outstanding singing and acting skills in a number of works, including musicals 'The Days', 'I Loved You', 'Jack the Ripper', 'Matahari', 'Hallan County', and 'April Is Your Lie', and is expected to appeal to audiences with a wider acting spectrum and solid vocals.
Musical 'Sugar' will be performed at KEPCO Art Center Grand Theater from December 12 to February 22, 2026.
