According to the legal community on the 24th, the Seoul Southern District Court's Criminal Agreement Department 15 (Judge Yang Hwan-seung) accepted Lee's request for bail on the 22nd, accused of violating the Capital Markets Act and the Lawyers Act. The court ordered housing restrictions, submission of vows, court reports when leaving the country, and prohibition of contact with persons involved in the case on the condition of a deposit of 100 million won.
Prosecutors believe that Lee, along with his accomplices, made a total of 14 billion won worth of profits by repeatedly making false disclosures and manipulating market prices against a number of KOSDAQ companies, including Quantafia, Central Advanced Materials, and Xcure. It was a method of floating stock prices by leaking exaggerated information such as "'confirmation of large-scale investment' and 'promotion of high-tech new business'.
In particular, he is accused of making profits by raising the central high-tech material's stock price more than 10 times from 490 won to 5,850 won for about a year from the end of 2022. Regarding Quantafia, it was also found that it made a profit of 6 billion won with false disclosures of 100 billion in investment commitments.
He was also charged with violating the Lawyers Act after it was revealed that he handed over 30 million won in deposit to a former prosecution investigator A to cover up the case and promised to give 1 billion won if successful. In addition, he is also accused of using undisclosed information related to XCure to make a market profit of around 100 million won.
The Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office's Joint Investigation Department on Financial Securities Crimes indicted Lee in April, and a total of 13 people were caught in stock price manipulation. Lee denied all charges in the first trial held in June.
Meanwhile, Lee Seung-gi married actor Lee Da-in in April 2023 and had a daughter last year. Lee Seung-gi drew the line at the time of his marriage, saying, "'These are things before marriage, and problems that families have to solve.'" However, when Lee was indicted, he issued a statement in May saying, "'I can't control my miserable feelings about my father-in-law's cheating based on trust between my family members.'"
