On the 12th, KBS CoolFM 'Park Myung-soo's Radio Show's corner 'Search N Chart', broadcaster Jeon Min-ki appeared to talk about the 4.5-day week system.
On this day, Jeon Min-ki said, "I may go home from lunch on Friday for the first time in 21 years."," he said, referring to the 4.5-day-week discussion.
Jeon Min-ki "When I was young, I worked until Saturday. I thought it would be good if I finished work at 12 o'clock on Saturday."
DJ Park Myung-soo responded, "'Didn't you go home and eat after 12 o'clock on Saturday?' I wonder if this is how I live now because I did that. It was difficult at the time, but I lived hard, so I'm what I am now."
Jeon Min-ki said, `The average annual working hours in Korea is 1904 hours, 185 hours more than the OECD average. The 4.5-day-week discussion has accelerated because flexible and remote work has spread since COVID-19.
The public opinion is favorable. Sixty-one per cent of the public approve, but the other side points to wage cuts and labor productivity limits," he said.
Then Park Myung-soo expressed a negative view, saying, `What if we reduce this when we don't have a population?'
Then "You don't waste a lot of time when you say you have a lot of wasted time. We are freelancers, so we also work during Chuseok. It's not bad to go out and exercise in line with the times, but there are still companies' positions.
Finally, Park Myung-soo said "This requires sufficient discussion. Companies must live in a bad economy so that we can live. We need to have a conversation that fits the environment of the people who work," he stressed.
