On the 27th, the third hearing was held in the Civil Agreement Department 31 (Chief Judge Nam In-soo) of the Seoul Central District Court on the 27th in connection with the put option lawsuit filed by former CEO Min against Hive. On this day, former representative Min attended the court in person for questioning the parties concerned.
Former CEO Min revealed the process of joining Hive in detail and resigned from SM Entertainment on December 31, 2018. However, only two days later, on January 2, 2019, Hive Chairman Bang Si-hyuk contacted me right away"I didn't expect to hear from you this quickly immediately after leaving the company. Chairman Bang said he already knew about my resignation through SM's internal information network. I didn't know you'd leave SM, but you said you were glad to see me, and you really wanted to recruit me," he recalled.
Former CEO Min said he was also considering getting a job offer from Kakao Entertainment at the time. However, Chairman Bang also talked directly to his parents and actively persuaded them to recruit him. Former CEO Min said "My parents accidentally called me, and Chairman Bang told my father 'I'll help him do what he wants to do." I hope we can work together at our company,' he pleaded on his knees. Seeing the sincerity of the Speaker Bang, I decided to take on a new challenge in Hive."
He then said "If you go to Kakao Entertainment, there are a lot of things to pioneer and a lot to organize. I was able to choose Hive because Chairman Bang promised me that he would trust me and support me to do what I wanted. After that, when a dispute broke out with Hive, my parents were very upset."
In particular, former representative Min was honest about the mental pain and pain he experienced in the process of dismissal. He successfully completed the activities of "How Sweet" and "Supernatural" and the Tokyo Dome fan meeting. It was a historic and all-time achievement for Tokyo Dome to enter as a fan meeting, not a concert. It is hard to understand a company that dismisses the head of its subsidiary that produced such results" and wept. Then "It was hard and hell to be at work, but I could bear it because of Newzins."," he added.
He also said "I didn't do anything wrong and I managed transparently. There is no reason to be dismissed. People around me told me to endure it, but I thought I had no choice but to leave the company because I couldn't bear it anymore" he appealed.
Meanwhile, former CEO Min Hee-jin resigned from his position as an in-house director in November last year and filed a bill against Hive for the exercise of put options. If the court recognizes the right to claim the exercise of put options, Hive will have to pay an amount worth 26 billion won to former CEO Min Hee-jin.
