The 120-seat funeral hall was filled with mourners, and a silent tribute continued even after 91 flowers were laid to match the age of the deceased. The funeral procession headed to Eden Paradise in Icheon, the burial site, without visiting a separate memorial space.

Born in Hoeryong, North Hamgyong Province in 1934, Lee Soon-jae was an actor who worked in more than 140 works for nearly 70 years after debuting with the play 'Over the Horizon' in 1956.

He was loved by viewers for his characters that spanned the ages, such as the father of "What Is Love?", teacher Yoo Eui-tae of "Heo Jun", "Bathroom Men", "Dissan", "Bethoven Virus", and "Princess Man". The sitcom 'High Kick' series re-established a friendly image, and in the entertainment show 'Grandpas Over Flowers', they opened a new heyday, called 'Straight Forward Soonjae'.

He didn't leave the stage until his last years. He was active in the KBS Drama Awards in 2024 with his posthumous KBS drama Gaesori. At the time, he was indebted and helped a lot throughout his life," he said in his final greeting.

On the 25th, the government honored the deceased with the Geumgwan Order of Cultural Merit.
