MC Nam Hee-seok expressed his regret while the "National Singing Contest" was canceled due to the forest fire in Ulju-gun, Ulsan.

On the 23rd, Nam Hee-seok wrote on his personal account that "'National Singing Contest' in Ulsan will not be broadcasted on this day "Ulju-gun, Ulsan-si, and there are wildfires all over the country. It is difficult to extinguish due to dry conditions and strong winds. Unfortunately, some people have lost their lives."

Then "It seems that wildfires are mostly caused by people. While weeding oxygen, we were doing a real story, a hiker's cigarette, burning paddy fields, burning garbage, I don't want to believe it, but I want it to be set ablaze. "I desperately hope it rains."

Initially, at 12:10 p.m. on KBS1, the Ulsan Metropolitan City Ulju-gun episode of 『National Singing Contest』 was scheduled to air. However, in Ulju-gun, where the episode was filmed, wildfires continued for more than 24 hours from the previous day, causing major damage, such as evacuation orders in four villages. In response, KBS replaced KBS's special news advisory program 'Donghaeng' with KBS's current affairs culture program 'Donghaeng' instead of 'National Singing Contest'.

So far, 170 hectares (hectare) in Ulju-gun have been confirmed to have been damaged by wildfires, and 2,331 people, including special firefighters, government officials, police, and firefighters, and 12 helicopters have been mobilized to extinguish the forest fires. Forest authorities issued the third stage, the highest level of forest fire response, from 9 a.m. that day.

Meanwhile, the Ulsan Metropolitan City Ulju-gun episode of 'National Singing Contest' will air next week.
