Netflix will present 'Weak Hero Class2'
Netflix's new original series "Weak Hero Class 2" depicts a desperate survival and brilliant growth story of Yeon Si-eun, a model student who confronted violence for her friend but transferred to Eunjang High School with trauma that she could not keep because she could never lose her friend again.
Released in 2022, 'Weak Hero Class 1' became a sensation and opened a new era of the academy's action-growth drama. Yeon Si-eun (Park Ji-hoon) broke the hard shell surrounding her and built bonds with her friends, and the desperate growing pains of learning the courage to fight against the harsh reality gave a great resonance and became many people's 'life work'. Thanks to the good performance of new actors who maximized genre pleasure, it recorded a surprising 45.5% share of OTT platform and a 9.9 rating at the time of release, recognizing both its workability and buzz.
The dignity of 'Weak Hero Class 1', which met with viewers around the world on Netflix on March 25 ahead of the release of 'Weak Hero Class 2', was also extraordinary. Immediately after its release, it was listed in the Top 10 of 70 countries, ranking second in the Global Top 10 Series (non-English). According to the Netflix TOP 10 website, Weak Hero Class 1 further amplified expectations for that second story, with 6,700,000 viewers (viewing time divided by the total running time of the work).
Above all, director Yoo Soo-min, who led the success by adding a unique action to the world view that broke away from the typicality of the academy, and director Han Joon-hee, who is in charge of planning, once again join forces to make fans more excited. Starting with Park Ji-hoon, curiosity about new characters and chemistry created by young actors such as Ryeo-woon, Choi Min-young, Yoo Soo-bin, Bae Na-ra, Lee Min-jae, and Lee Joon-young is also amplified.
While attention is focused on Park Ji-hoon's enthusiastic performance, which has deepened with the growth of the life character Yeon Si-eun, the unveiled teaser posters and teaser trailers heat the heart even more. Yeon Si-eun's unfinished fight can be seen in her scarred but determined eyes. On top of that, the phrase in the teaser poster 'You must fight to protect' prompts questions about the greater violence he will face at the school he transferred to with trauma.
The teaser trailer released together catches the eye with Yeon Si-eun's desperate survival. Adding to the image of Yeon Si-eun fighting fiercely with her mysterious opponent Venus Je (Lee Joon-young) "Suho, I fought again." The self-deprecating voice of "sorry" is also unusual. Yeon Si-eun, who broke the egg after meeting Ahn Su-ho (Choi Hyun-wook) in the last 'Class 1'. However, his hurtful changes from his drooping shoulders and lost eyes are conveyed intact. Yeon Si-eun, deeply engraved with the wounds of failing to protect her friend, lost her laughter and became a `voluntary outsider', but the ferocious rumor does not leave him alone again.
It is also interesting to note the existence of new friends Park Hu-min (Ryeowoon), Seo Joon-tae (Choi Min-young), and Ko Hyun-tak (Lee Min-jae). Yeon Si-eun, who said she was comfortable alone and built a high wall that no one could step on. He slowly starts to open up to his friends who keep coming, knocking on the door, and reaching out their hands. "I forgot everything? It is touching to see Yeon Si-eun's cry that "It's good to have a friend" and Yeon Si-eun who started walking side by side with her new friends.
But even in silverware, violence never stops. Greater violence threatening in and out of school raises Yeon Si-eun's anger gauge, and the cold warning of "Don't cross the line" raises viewers' heart rates to the fullest. I can't wait to see how Yeon Si-eun, who transferred to Eunjang High School with trauma, will play a desperate survival and brilliant growth story to never lose her friend again.
The Netflix series 'Weak Hero Class 2' will be released worldwide on April 25 on Netflix.
