Actor Seol Kyung-gu showed his extraordinary passion for acting by losing 10kg for the Disney+ series 'HyperKnife'.

Seol Kyung-gu met with Sports Chosun in an interview with 『HyperKnife" held in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 14th and confessed,"I lost weight because I wanted the ending scene.'

His character 'Choi Deok-hee' is a world-class neurosurgeon and a character whose condition is getting worse. Seol Kyung-gu lost about 10kg by fasting to express the physical changes of the gradually dying character.

But this choice wasn't easy. Looking at the script, I thought I should lose weight, but the production team expressed their difficulties with the schedule. But that was so upsetting. So I cursed a lot. I said jokingly, `I won't let you go.'," he said with a smile.

However, in reality, physical pain after losing weight was not easy. "One episode had to shoot a scene between the past and the present for a day. The real anger boiled in my stomach. In the end, he declared that he could not do it even if he died and refused"It was frankly stated.

Regarding the reason for the weight loss, Seol Kyung-gu said, "I'm a person who is close to death in the settings, but I thought my face shouldn't be fine. That doesn't convince me. I can't do it because I'm embarrassed." Then "At least it had to be a face that looked sick. This is not a sense of responsibility, but rather a minimal attitude and face as an actor."

At the same time, Seol Kyung-gu said he fasted for three days ahead of filming the ending scene. He said "In fact, we didn't discuss it, but we started it recklessly, but the process was so difficult because we were filming at the same time."

Meanwhile, 「Hyperknife" starring Seol Kyung-gu recorded a high buzz among Disney+ original series through intense acting synergy with Park Eun-bin. The entire eight-part 'HyperKnife' was released on the 9th.
