Actor Ma Dong-seok expressed his honest thoughts about the box office ahead of the release of the movie 「Holy Night: Demon Hunters」.

Ma Dong-seok met with Sports Chosun at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 24th, saying, `I'm upset that the situation in the theater has become very difficult.' `I hope many audiences come to the theater"

Released on the 30th, 'Holy Night: Demon Hunters' (hereinafter 'Holy Night') is an occult action in which Tim Bau, Sharon, and Kim, the dark solvers with special abilities, are thrown into confusion by a group of evil worshippers, and is the director's debut feature-length production. Ma Dong-seok played the role of Ba, who hunts demons with rock-like power and fists.

Ma Dong-seok, who is about to release the work, was waiting because the investment distributor decided the release period. In the meantime, I met with the audience in the spring for three consecutive years with 'The Crime City', and 'Oh, I see' because it will be released in the spring. It's a different genre from the "crime city", so I wonder how the audience will see it.

Ma challenged the occult action genre for the first time through the film 'Holy Night'. Therefore, he did not make this film because he became newly interested in the occult genre. Before the release of the first film 'The Outlaws', we had a period of working on the scenario of 'The Holy Night' . "Since I've been dealing with a lot of reality-based stories, I sometimes wanted to create such fantasy stories or works using cinematic imagination. I've always been interested in horror and occult genres, and don't Hollywood spend a lot of money on producing dark hero movies. I thought it would be better to make a movie by combining these two genres," he said.

Ma Dong-seok also achieved the first 'Triple 10 Million ' score in a domestic series with the 'The Outlaws' series. When asked if he felt any pressure about this, he replied with a smile, "'Don't lean on me.'" The new season of 'The Outlaws' is scheduled to be filmed next year and is currently working on five to eight scripts""The Crime City" luckily drew 10 million viewers in a row, but it's a score that doesn't make sense, so I don't know if it'll happen again. But I don't think that's going to happen. Isn't the situation in the theater very hard. I also like to watch movies at the theater with popcorn, but I'm upset that the number of works has decreased. Not only me, but all the producers' wishes are to break even and make other works. When making 'Holy Night', I prepared it with great effort for a long time. If you watch the movie well, I think a better producer or junior actor than me will gain more strength by saying, 'Oh, the audience likes this kind of movie.'"
