Yoo Jin-pyo's "First Lady," will be welcomed by MBN's revival of Wednesday-Thursday drama

On the afternoon of the 24th, a production presentation for MBN's new mini-series 'First Lady" (script by Kim Hyung-wan, director Lee Ho-hyun, production by Studio G-Dam, Artist Studio, and Roadshow Plus) was held at The Link Hotel in Guro-gu, Seoul. Director Lee Ho-hyun and actors Yoo Jin, Ji Hyun-woo and Lee Min-young attended the meeting to talk about the work.

Director Lee Ho-hyun explained that the writer, who thought it was a political drama when he first received the script, was a melodrama. The unique charm of the professional group of the elected and wife melted together and worked interestingly," he said.
Eugene, who plays the role of Cha Soo-yeon, the First Lady, chose 'First Lady 'First Lady' as her first comeback in four years. The script that begins with a scene demanding divorce was intense, and Cha Soo-yeon is a woman rushing toward desire. If you played a strong situation in the previous movie, the character itself is strong this time. It was difficult because it was my first time trying, but I worked with determination," he said. He then tried to make an external transformation with fancy costumes and cold tones and practiced acting to remove warmth from his voice. It hasn't been long since it ended, so I still can't get out of it", showing confidence.
Ji Hyun-woo plays Hyun Min-chul, who rose from an orphanage to the president-elect. He said "Weekend dramas were always unprepared because of the fast pace of airing, but I was able to practice the script enough this time. Since I played the role of the president, there were many scenes of speeches, so I went to the actual Capitol and practiced with murmuring lines"It drew attention. Min-cheol may be frustrated because he is an honest and slow person, but he may be the president the people want in that he does not bend his beliefs. I imagined what it would be like if a character who stands out in the organization goes to the president", he explained.
Lee Min-young, who plays Shin Hae-rin, emphasized the mysterious charm. Lee Min-young said, `At first, I wondered why the Haerin character would do this, but the question was solved in the second half. There is also a scene where loyalty goes too far and goes against the will, but the role is to show how far a person with faith can go."
As for the chemistry between the two actors "Ji Hyun-woo did not let go of the script and pursued perfection throughout the filming. Eugene was like a vitamin to breathe energy into the field," he said with a smile.
He also told the story behind the casting. Director Lee Ho-hyun said, `Yujin had a fairy-like image in the past, but she perfectly digested Cha Soo-yeon. It was difficult at the scene, but the synchro rate was high. Ji Hyunwoo was a fantasy to me. He realized the unrealistic character of a young and upright president. The first shooting was a 7-minute speech scene, and I was impressed by the perfect performance so that it wouldn't be boring. Actor Lee Min-young is an actor I have liked since I was young, and just with his eyes, he has the power to tell the story of the character."
Asked if there was any pressure on MBN to revive its first mini-series on Wednesday and Thursday in three years, "If there was no pressure, it would be a lie, but with the actors, I became convinced. Many characters appear, but they are not consumptive and are structured to reveal meaning and transcription. Until the second half of the drama, there is a different fun that you can't see in other dramas, so please pay a lot of attention to it," he said.
MBN's Wednesday-Thursday miniseries 'First Lady' will premiere at 10:20 p.m. on the 24th.
