Sisterhood as family love..Netflix apologizes for mistranslation of Kedeheon Maggie Kang's interview

Netflix apologized after misinterpreting Maggie Kang's interview remarks in the worldwide popular animated film 'K-pop Demon Hunters (Kedeheon)'.

On the 13th, Netflix Korea posted a video of 'Maggie Kang, Ahn Hyo-seop Behind Interview' on its official YouTube channel. In the released video, Ahn Hyo-seop opened his mouth to director Maggie Kang, saying, `I tried to set Rumi as a solo artist, but the director said that Rumi must be a member of the group.' In response, coach Maggie Kang said, `If Lumie were alone, I would have been lonely. I thought that if there was a dynamic group, friendship stories and sisterhood stories would come out, so it would be a more powerful story structure", he explained.

In response to the story directed by Maggie Kang, Netflix created a controversy by translating 'Sisterhood' into 'Family Love' rather than 'Sisterhood'. Sisterhood is a dictionary meaning of sisterhood (between women who share ideas and goals), but Netflix distorted the meaning of Maggie Kang's remarks by using the word "family love" instead of this meaning.

This led to criticism from netizens, and Netflix eventually apologized. Netflix Korea corrects 'family love' in the caption to 's sisterhood'. I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused to the city hall due to the wrong translation," he bowed his head. However, the caption 'Family love' in the video remains the same.
