Munmu Lee Hyun-wook's first epic drama starring, Wonkyung feels the charm of historical drama

Lee Hyun-wook said at a press production briefing for KBS2's epic drama 'Moonmu' held at the St. in Guro-gu, Seoul on the 18th, "I'm preparing for it with the heart of "On Go Ji-shin"
Munmu (scripted by Kim Ri-heon and Hong Jin-yi, directed by Kim Young-jo and Cho Sung-jun), which is scheduled to premiere in 2026, depicts a great story of unity in which Silla, a small country, finally united Samhan after crossing over Goguryeo, Baekje, and the Tang Dynasty. Director Kim Young-jo, who directed 'Hwarang', 'Jang Young-sil', 'Jingbi-rok', etc., and writer Kim Ri-heon, who was elected to the miniseries category of the KBS script contest in 2021, joined forces.
Lee Hyun-wook plays Kim Beom-min (King Munmu), Kim Chun-chu's eldest son and Kim Yu-shin's maternal grandfather. Playing the lead role in the first epic drama, he said, `I'm studying history hard with the director and seniors. It was my first time to appear in a Korean drama, and while preparing for the work, I thought of a lot of the four-character idiom 'On Gujishin'. I'm studying how to express new things along with the advantages of KBS dramas" he said.
Previously, Lee Hyun-wook appeared in the original tvN X TVing series 'Wonkyung' and was loved by many viewers. Therefore, he fell in love with the genre of historical drama, and he learned a lot from playing a real person"It was an opportunity to develop both in terms of acting and personally."
