KBS2's Saturday miniseries "The Last Summer" (written by Jeon Yu-ri, directed by Min Yeon-hong) made the small screen fun with a rich chemistry created by a combination of colorful characters, led by Baek Do-ha (Lee Jae-wook) and Song Ha-kyung (Choi Sung-eun). Romance, as well as exciting sub-episodes, have been added, drawing criticism that it has become truly a chemistry restaurant.
First, childhood friends Doha and Ha Kyung, the central axis of the work, constantly bumped into each other after two years of reunification and shared bouncy fun. The two, who began living together at Doha's suggestion 'Nutjip', bickering but slowly permeating each other, arousing excitement. However, this calm atmosphere was shaken at once by the appearance of Doha's American friend Yoon So-hee (Kwon Ah-reum).
In addition, the existence of Seo Soo-hyuk (Kim Gun-woo), who brought about a change between Doha and Hakyung, added to the fun of seeing it. Su-hyuk's honest straight forward toward Ha-kyung and the comfortable and subtle flow of the two when they were together stimulated Doha's jealousy and made the triangle more solid.
In particular, the ending of Ha-kyung telling Doha that she had a relationship with Su-hyuk in the sixth episode shocked viewers. As a result, it made me wonder about the appearance of Ha-kyung and Su-hyuk, who became lovers, no longer in the relationship between the plaintiff and the other's lawyer, and the change of Doha's emotions, which will fluctuate due to the relationship between the two.
The combination, which serves as the vitality of the work, is also greatly loved. Doha, Hakyung, and 'Favengers'The five leaders who struggled to obtain consent for public projects are the main characters. The scene in which Doha and Hakyung play Yut with the heads of villages under the supervision of the Women's Association President (Lee Soo-mi) to obtain consent for the remodeling project of Pathan High School provided a wealth of attractions, maximizing the warm charm of "Last Summer". In addition, the appearance of the five village heads coming to the front of Doha and Hakyung's house where they decided to live together and greeting them in the morning created a friendly atmosphere.
In this way, "Last Summer" did not just rely on romance, but showed a variety of combinations, from the tension of the love triangle to the pleasant and warm human chemistry with the villagers. Through colorful chemistry, they are raising expectations for the ever-changing relationships and episodes they will show for the rest of the episode to the highest level.
Meanwhile, the seventh episode of KBS2's Saturday miniseries 'Last Summer' will air at 9:20 p.m. on the 22nd.
