KBS announced a new revival of Daeha drama through 'Moonmu'.
KBS2's epic drama 『Literature』 press production briefing session was held at the St. D-Cube City in Guro-gu, Seoul on the 18th. Actors Lee Hyun-wook, Jang Hyuk, Kim Kang-woo, Jung Woong-in, Cho Sung-ha and Kim Young-jo attended the scene.
Munmu (scripted by Kim Ri-heon and Hong Jin-yi, directed by Kim Young-jo and Cho Sung-jun), which is scheduled to premiere in 2026, depicts a great story of unity in which Silla, a small country, finally united Samhan after crossing over Goguryeo, Baekje, and the Tang Dynasty. Director Kim Young-jo, who directed 'Hwarang', 'Jang Young-sil', 'Jingbi-rok', etc., and writer Kim Ri-heon, who was elected to the miniseries category of the KBS script contest in 2021, joined forces.

'Literary dance' is a new epic drama that KBS introduces two years after 'Goryeo War'. Director Kim, who directed the drama, said, `I can't sleep because the epic drama has been revived. I'll do my best to make a work that I'm not ashamed of" expressed a firm determination.
When asked if he had any concerns about distortion of history, director Kim continued to attend the National Assembly Library. Since I am a person who directs historical dramas, I should know all the contents, and I shouldn't tell you the distorted facts without realizing it. 'Literature' is confident that there will be no distortion of history"I will not paint China worse to show that Korea enjoys the joy of winning." It's a drama, so it's a bit dramatic, but I'll show it like a living textbook as much as I can. We will apply it thoroughly to the extent that the people can take the test right away after watching our drama."

On top of that, a large number of leading actors, including Lee Hyun-wook, Jang Hyuk, Kim Kang-woo, Park Sung-woong, Jung Woong-in, and Cho Sung-ha, have announced their appearances, raising expectations from prospective viewers. Lee Hyun-wook plays Kim Beom-min (King Munmu), Kim Chun-chu's eldest son and Kim Yu-shin's maternal grandfather. Playing the lead role in the first epic drama, he said, `I'm studying history hard with the director and seniors. It was my first time to appear in a Korean drama, and while preparing for the work, I thought of a lot of the four-character idiom 'On Gujishin'. I'm studying how to express new things along with the advantages of KBS dramas" he said.
Previously, Lee Hyun-wook appeared in the original tvN X TVing series 'Wonkyung' and was loved by many viewers. Therefore, he fell in love with the genre of historical drama, and he learned a lot from playing a real person"It was an opportunity to develop both in terms of acting and personally."
Director Kim asked why he cast Lee Hyun-wook as Kim Beom-min, saying, "Isn't Lee Hyun-wook so beautiful. If the existing epic drama has a masculine and rugged feeling, Lee Hyun-wook will likely alleviate it. It's not a hard drama, but I think it can capture the hearts of female and male viewers."

Jang Hyuk plays Yeon Gaesomun, the god of war and a harsh dictator born by Goguryeo. He said "Isn't Yeon Gaesomun a character that can be interpreted in various ways as well as in history. I thought, "Why don't we express the propensity of Yeon Gaesomun that we knew before or the parts that can be judged a little differently?"`.

Kim Kang-woo plays Kim Chun-chu, the first king of Silla and the father of Kim Beom-min. As for why he joined the work, he said, `First of all, the script has to be interesting. Even though we didn't start filming yet, it felt like we were looking at martial arts. The epic drama is heavy and has a strong sense of subject matter, but 'Moonmu' seemed to be watching a martial arts story in which the characters were alive one by one. I thought we had that kind of era, and it was nice to be able to be with good actors and directors," he said. Then "I have two sons, and I will prepare hard so that I won't be embarrassed by them."He expressed his determination.
Jung Woong-in transforms into Kim Jin-ju, a hidden power of the Silla court and a realist who is cool to the bone, and Go Geon-moo, a war hero who made a contribution in numerous battles of Goguryeo.

Finally, director Kim left a message to viewers ahead of the first broadcast next year. He `cast good actors to the best of his ability. Now that I've finished casting, my role is to support the actors. The camera director is here as KBS's best veterans. Please look forward to it," he stressed.
