Hwang Jung-eum Repays Full 4.3 Billion Won Embezzled from Family Corporation

The agency, Y1 Entertainment, officially announced on the 17th that `Hwang Jung-eum has repaid the entire amount used by Hunminjeongeum Entertainment in the form of provisional payment.' According to the agency, Hwang Jung-eum is said to have reimbursed all amounts twice on the 30th of last month and the 5th of this month by arranging his private property.

Earlier in early 2022, Hwang Jung-eum received about 700 million won of the funds borrowed under the name of Hunminjeongeum Entertainment, a family corporation, as provisional payments and invested in cryptocurrency. Since then, it has been reported that about 4.2 billion won of additional company funds has been used to invest in coins, and the total amount of embezzlement has reached 4.34 billion won.
As a result, he was investigated for violating the law on aggravated punishment for certain economic crimes and appealed for leniency through his lawyer.
In the apology issued at the time, Hwang Jeong-eum said, "It started with the intention of growing the company, but it was an unreasonable judgment."I didn't know that a coin investment that started at the recommendation of an acquaintance would be such a big mistake."
