The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul arrested A at around 10:30 p.m. on the 12th.
A is accused of scribbling insulting BoA at more than 10 public transportation stops, electronic boards, and electric distribution boards in Gangnam-gu, Gwangjin-gu, and Gangdong-gu, Seoul. The police received a complaint from BoA's agency SM Entertainment on the 11th and launched an investigation, and voluntarily accompanied A on the same day to investigate the motive and circumstances of the crime on charges of property damage and insults. Currently, A has returned home, and no decision has been made on whether to investigate further summons.
Meanwhile, SM Entertainment stated, "I would like to inform you that the act of defaming the personality and reputation of the artist by posting false information and insulting the artist for the purpose of public slander constitutes a clear criminal act, and that we will respond strongly to such criminal acts without any leniency and in principle."
