On the 11th, the Suwon High Court's 2-3 Criminal Department (B) postponed the sentence of an appeal trial for Yoo Young-jae, who was arrested on charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (forced harassment by relatives), to July.
After the appeal hearing was concluded, the sentence for Yoo Young-jae was originally scheduled on the same day, but the date was delayed as Yoo Young-jae applied for a change in the sentencing date on the 9th.
Yoo Young-jae was put on trial on charges of forcibly molesting his then-wife, Sunwoo Eun-sook's biological sister A, five times from March to October 2023.
In January, the first trial court sentenced Yoo Young-jae to two and a half years in prison and arrested him in court, saying, `There is a risk of running away.' It also ordered a 40-hour completion of sexual violence treatment programs and a five-year restriction on employment at institutions related to children and the disabled.
Yoo Young-jae appealed on the grounds of misrepresentation, misunderstanding of the law, and improper sentencing. The prosecution also submitted an appeal, saying the sentence was light. Later, in the final trial of the appeals court, the prosecution demanded a five-year prison term in the same manner as in the first trial.
Lawyer Yoo Young-jae apologizes to the victim at the appeal trial. While in prison, he realized it was a serious crime, and he appealed for leniency, saying, "I will work hard to recover from the damage." He also filed a number of petitions and emphasized that there will be no recidivism.

Meanwhile, Yoo Young-jae married Sunwoo Eun-sook in 2022, but divorced in April 2023, a year and a half. Yoo Young-jae was sued to cancel the marriage on suspicion of hiding his common-law marriage and getting married, but the court rejected the lawsuit on the grounds that he was already divorced.
