It is shocking to learn that a foreign model A, who is active in Korea, did not receive an apology and compensation for nearly a year even though she suffered a serious neck break at the filming site of an advertisement for a credit card company last year.

JTBC 'Case Team Leader', which aired on the 13th, told the sad story of A, who fractured his neck during an advertisement shoot in July last year.

Mr. A, who came to Korea in 2016 and has been working as a model for various brands, has mainly appeared in advertisements demanding a dynamic image such as sports and clothing, and even after marrying and divorcing his Korean wife, he has been raising his 6-year-old daughter and cooperating with his ex-wife.

The accident occurred on July 24 last year at a video advertisement shooting site of a domestic credit card company. At that time, A was asked for a specific pose with a dynamic posture on the trampoline and had an accident in which his head hit the floor while performing repeated movements.

While preparing for the advertisement, Mr. A said from the casting stage, "Isn't it dangerous. Is it safe to film. We have asked several times, "Is it possible to cover insurance if we get hurt?" but the related company asked "There is no need to worry."," he said, guaranteeing his safety.

However, there was only a thin mat next to the trampoline at the filming site, and there was no separate safety device.

Immediately after hitting his head on the floor, A lost consciousness and was rushed to the hospital, and a detailed examination revealed that he broke his neck bone and dislocated it. Since then, he has undergone two major surgeries, including anterior cervical fusion surgery and posterior fixation surgery on cervical vertebrae 4, 5, and 6.

His life was saved, but he is still suffering from serious aftereffects. There are more than 10cm of scars left on the neck, and it is difficult to make a living because it is impossible to even lift things or sit for a long time. What made Mr. A more difficult was the attitude of related companies after the accident. Mr. A's ex-wife was injured while trying to perform certain movements on the trampoline, and the company claimed that her ex-husband had an accident while running on his own"I asked him how he could get hurt when he didn't hit anywhere, and he said 'That's bad luck. There is no fault of ours" he said.

The advertisement was entrusted by the credit card company to an outsourced production company through an agency, and A was recruited through a model agency. However, since the accident, credit card companies, agencies, production companies, and agencies have all avoided responsibility, and no one has made an official apology or compensation. The production company said "The accident was bad luck," and the agency offered 30 million won as compensation for the aftereffects, but demanded a reduction of 3 million won, saying "It's hard because it's a small business."

In the end, A rejected the proposal and is paying for the entire hospital fee of about 18 million won and subsequent treatment fee on his own. He is currently discharged early because he cannot afford hospital expenses, and he is physically unable to work, so he is not even able to pay child support properly.

A said he has never faced a company official since the accident and has not even received an official apology.

Meanwhile, the company will meet with the victim to discuss compensation" made a statement.
