"Korea University Guro Hospital held the inauguration ceremony of the 22nd Korea University Guro Hospital Min Byung-wook Hospital' in the auditorium of Saerom Education Center on the 17th.

Min Byung-wook, the head of the hospital, presented an innovative focus task of ▲ strengthening its status as a high-level general hospital specializing in severe diseases ▲ making teachers a happy hospital ▲ a medical institution that contributes to humanity and the future society, and suggested a paradigm shift for Korea's high-level general hospitals and a new direction for future medical care.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by more than 300 distinguished guests, including Park Myung-sik, executive director of Korea Central Academy, Kim Dong-won, president of Korea University, Yoon Eul-sik, vice president and medical director, Jang In-hong, head of Guro-gu Office, and Kim In-je, vice chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Council.

Min Byung-wook, the head of the hospital, said "It was possible because of the dedication and enthusiasm of the faculty and staff who did their best in their respective positions until Korea University Guro Hospital established itself as the top treatment institution for severe diseases in the region today and established a firm status as the best general hospital in Korea. Following this status, we will continue to build a new cancer hospital (Nuri Hall) in earnest to further strengthen the treatment infrastructure for severely ill patients and maximize the synergy of professionalism and cooperation."

Min Byung-wook, director of the hospital, was born in 1967, graduated from Korea University School of Medicine and received a master's and doctorate degrees from the same graduate school. It has been recognized as a name in the field of colorectal anastomosis and has contributed to the development of surgery. He served as the director of surgery at Korea University Guro Hospital, the head of the cancer center, and the head of the medical department, reorganized the surgical treatment system, strengthened cancer treatment capabilities, and led the quality improvement of medical services at Korea University Guro Hospital and the continuous development of the hospital. Min Byung-wook's term of office is from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2027.
