"'Going Palace' is a piece that helped you finish your first half of your acting life well"

Actor Kim Ji-hoon said that SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'Going Palace' (written by Yoon Soo-jung/directed by Yoon Sung-sik), which ended on the 7th, ended the first half of his 20-year acting life and became an opportunity to find a new trajectory as an actor again.

Kim Ji-hoon played Lee Jung, a king who dreams of a strong country, in SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'Gwigung' (written by Yoon Soo-jung/directed by Yoon Seong-sik), and performed across genres, from an all-around monarch and friendly head of household to the eight-chuckgui sage. Kim Ji-hoon's performance, which depicted the solid appearance of King Lee Jung, who did not lose his balance until the end, also led to a sharp rise in the ratings of 'Going Palace'.

Kim Ji-hoon, who experienced new challenges through his 20-year career of 'Guigung', said this work became an important milestone in his acting life. He said "Like this one, I do my best in every one of them, but in fact, terrestrial dramas have many restrictions. So, I'm sad that the main broadcast doesn't contain a tenth of the efforts I made for filming. "Especially, some of the scenes I worked hard on and prepared for on the set were not included in the broadcast, so there were many upsetting parts as an actor."

The character Lee Jung, the king of 'Guigung', started as a thorough principleist and a realist and did not want to admit the existence of ghosts, confronted the influence of ghosts in the play and gradually showed flexibility in thinking.

Kim Ji-hoon "In the play, there were many similar parts of the values of King Lee Jung and I. I personally sympathized with him for his ability to change even though he is a principleist, and for his flexibility by compromising with reality. He continued "It was a real challenge for an actor to see the king being driven into a tragic situation where he tried to take care of the people and protect his loved ones, but rather threatened both the country and the family," he said.

Then "It was the first character to perform such a diversified performance within a single work. It was much heavier than the previous works. The background of the era of the painting is that the king was a country, so he always acted with weight. "He tried to express the last eight precious gods while feeling everything completely." he said.

Kim Ji-hoon, who has already become an actor in his 22nd year, praised himself that this work has put him on a new trajectory as an actor. In the first half of his acting life, he recalled, "I was just running, but it was a process of correcting the trajectory of acting again through 'Going Palace'." He then expressed his ambition, saying, "Now, I want to run with works that I can enjoy on my own as an actor and works that I want to brag about to people."

Finally, Kim Ji-hoon "Going Palace" was a work that showed everything I could show at my age"As an actor, it was a valuable opportunity to finish the first half well and prepare well for the second half"I expressed my feelings. In the future, he vowed to continue to show acting that conveys authenticity in each of his works as an actor he trusts and sees, signaling a new beginning in his acting life.

Meanwhile, 'Going Palace' ended popularly on the 7th, recording 11.0% of Nielsen Korea's ratings.
