Seo Do-young said "When I was first offered the role of Palchukgui, the only reason I could readily answer was because of the desperate narrative of General Cheon Geum-hwi, the main body of Palchukgui. For that one scene where he fights with enemies while holding his miraculously alive son, he went through dozens of action exercises and scene modifications for five months, and tried to make sure that Cheon Geum-hwi's emotional line reached the viewers as much as possible."

Subsequently, Seo Do-young had to endure a special makeup that weighed 30kg, and Cheon Geum-hwi, who had to perform swordsmanship with a pile of 15kg in his arms. Everything was never an easy task.
