'The Ballad of Us' Tops Ratings and OTT Charts, Sparks Ballad Revival

SBS' newly released music audition 'Our Ballad' revealed a strong presence from the first broadcast.
'Our Ballad' (directed by Jung Ik-seung, Ahn Jung-hyun, Han Ye-seul, and Ko Ji-yeon), which aired on the 23rd, captivated viewers despite an exceptional running time of 2 hours and 40 minutes. As of the second part, it ranked first in the same time period with an average viewer rating of 4.7 percent and a maximum of 5.2 percent (Nilson Korea, based on household ratings), and 2049 viewership was 1.1 percent, drawing attention from all age groups.
The reaction did not stop at TV. Immediately after the broadcast, it immediately settled in the top 5 on Netflix 'Today's Korea TOP Series' rankings, and topped the entertainment category in Wave. In other words, the fresh format of 'ballad audition' has attracted OTT viewers.
The buzz continued on digital platforms as well. Participant 'Jeju Girl' For You' clip sung by Lee Ye-ji exceeded 2 million views by combining YouTube, TikTok, and Reels within two days of its release. The stages of other participants are also on the rise, attracting explosive attention.
The pure and authentic stage of the average age of 18.2 participants heralded the revival of the ballads. This is why there is an evaluation that a new wind is blowing in the entertainment market, which has been dominated by 'trot audition'.
'Our Ballad' airs every Tuesday at 9 p.m. and the second episode will air on the 30th.
