Director Byun Sung-hyun's Jewel Box 'Good News' has finally opened. From Seol Kyung-gu, who worked together for the fourth time, to Hong Kyung and Ryu Seung-beom, who joined hands for the first time, their teamwork is drawing expectations from viewers around the world.
A production briefing session for the Netflix film 'Good News' was held at Dongdaemun Square in JW Marriott, Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 14th. Actors Seol Kyung-gu, Hong Kyung-young, Ryu Seung-beom and director Byun Sung-hyun attended the scene.
'Good News', which will be released on the 17th, is a movie about the suspicious operation of people who gathered in one place to land a hijacked plane in the 1970s, and director Byun Sung-hyun of 'Bulhan: The World of Bad Guys' (hereinafter 'Bulhan', 'Kingmaker', and 'Gil Bok-soon' took the megaphone.

Director Byun said, "'Good News' is a screenplay based on the airplane hijacking that took place in the 1970s. But it didn't completely follow the true story. I tried to melt the story I wanted to tell and the story that can be used by the current generation into the work"I recreated and directed several characters, and I worked with the actors" he explained.
'Good News' received a lot of attention even before it was released. The special presentation section of the 50th Toronto International Film Festival and the official invitation of the 30th Busan International Film Festival Gala Presentation met with audiences from all over the world. Director Byun said, `There were many English-speaking audiences in Toronto, so I wondered if they could understand (what I intended), but I was glad that they responded from the beginning.'
Seol Kyung-gu worked with him for the fourth time with 'Good News' following 'Bulhan', 'Kingmaker', and 'Gil Bok-soon'. Director Byun said, "'As I worked with the same actor and four works in a row, I had no choice but to build up my worries and think a lot. I talked to my senior Oral about 'Is it right for us to do this?' I also thought about it, but I think I got a hint while writing the Amog character. I don't want to see him (laughs) even though he's been wearing the same suit since 'I can't stop crying'. I'm not that kind of person at all, but I wanted to bring it up. I studied the characters by looking up the previous works of Oral senior"I was convinced just by the way the senior walked."

Seol Kyung-gu, who plays the role of an unidentified solver, said "Actually, I've been thinking a lot, but I think I'm glad I did it with director Byun. We did it together four times, and the story was different every time. I've been with the staff since 'I can't believe it's right now', but director Byun's work always seems to be curious. At the Busan International Film Festival, a reporter asked the director 'Why are you with Seol Kyung-gu again?' and replied 'Because I like you." Then in the afternoon, he declared that he would not do it with Seol Gyeong-gu anymore. The confession of love and the declaration of separation came out at the same time` he trembled.
He also revealed his infinite trust in coach Byun. Seol Kyung-gu "I lost a lot of weight to fit my outfit, but director Byun said I shouldn't lose more weight and I gained a little bit of weight because I didn't look like I had any." Hong Kyung, who played as a lieutenant in the elite air force, drew attention by challenging himself to act in three languages (Korean, English, and Japanese). He tried to get to know a lot of the basic elements of being a controller during the free period. The language may be familiar to English, but since it was my first time to speak Japanese, I tried to take enough time to find out slowly. I thought it was an opportunity to find out various things, even though it was difficult, in the case of sign language and foreign languages in 'Cheongseol' he said.
Director Byun, who worked with Hong Kyung for the first time, said "I had a lot of questions and was tired (laughs). I had to answer all the questions well, so I studied more even though it was a scenario I wrote. Actually, I said I was tired as a joke, but I learned a lot while working with Hongkyung"In a way, I did the first basic construction of the character named Gomyeong, but it is not an exaggeration to say that I made the finished product together."

Ryu played Park Sang-hyun, the head of the Central Intelligence Agency, the center of power. He was fascinated by the genre of black comedy when he said how he joined the work. Director Byun said, `Ryu Seung-beom said he enjoyed reading the scenario, but he refused" he revealed. At the same time, "Usually, when an actor refuses an offer to appear, I have to go back saying 'Okay', but I didn't go home and stayed there until I got my approval. We were together for 12 hours at the time, and only returned home after getting approval to appear," he said, revealing his secret story.
In response, Ryu Seung-beom did not reject the work. I wanted to take a break to finish my previous work and do the next one, but when the director gave me a suggestion, I had to prepare right away"I wondered if it would help the work, and there was no doubt about the 'Good News'."The director didn't want to go home, so I made the decision right on the spot " he said with a smile.

Finally, director Byun expressed his joy to work with his beloved actors. He said "I'm a fan of all three actors. The things that come out when they come together and collide are the things that I study more. It was nice to see the natural harmony," he said.
