Ji Chang-wook and Doh Kyung-soo Showcase Intense Rivalry at ‘The Manipulated’ Press Conference

Disney+ held a production presentation for the new original series 'Scarving City' (played by Oh Sang-ho and directed by Park Shin-woo and Kim Chang-joo) at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 3rd. Director Ji Chang-wook, Do Kyung-soo, Kim Jong-soo, Cho Yoon-soo, actor Lee Kwang-soo and director Park Shin-woo attended the event.
'A Sculpture Poetry' is an action drama in which Taejung (Ji Chang-wook), who lived a normal life, is caught up in an unjustly heinous crime and goes to prison one day, and learns that everything was planned by Johan (Do Kyung-soo), and executes revenge against him. Writer Oh Sang-ho, who wrote the "Model Taxi" series, wrote a solid poem. Ji Chang-wook plays the role of Taejung, a sculpted man, and Do Kyung-soo plays Johan, a sculptor who designs the case. In addition, Kim Jong-soo, Cho Yoon-soo, and Lee Kwang-soo also add power to 'sculpture city'.
This work shares the world view with the movie 'Manipulated City'. Following the movie, Ji Chang-wook also appeared as the main character in 'Scarving City' and was ready to meet viewers. Ji Chang-wook said "I think the goal this time was to express emotions that were immersed in situations rather than characters. Rather than making Taejung a three-dimensional character and making a new character attractive, I think the biggest task was to express those emotions fully by being in the situation Taejung is in, and to make viewers follow it."
In particular, Ji Chang-wook was casted without an alternative. It is explained that Park Tae-joong, not Ji Chang-wook, was so good that he could not think of it. Director Park Shin-woo said, `When I said I would become a drama, Ji Chang-wook already showed his willingness to do it even before the script came out. I know that he showed his affection for this work by waiting until the end for a long time when the script came out and it was an investment. I thought it was great. The work was not necessarily remade, but it also showed great performance in the 'Manipulated City.' I couldn't think of another actor."
Ji Chang-wook, who showed long loyalty, also said "When I first received the script for this work, I really wanted to do this. The biggest reason was that the characters were very unique and attractive. In fact, I think it can be said that another character came out because I acted without matching 'manipulated city' and 'carved city' that I did before at all. I thought I was placed with people in the relationship with them because the characters composed around them were different from each other. The writer said something when setting up the character, and I don't think it was easy because of that, but Taejung said it would be nice if it was like a tree. So I think that was the biggest homework for me."

The confrontation between Ji Chang-wook and Do Kyung-soo fills up 'Scarving City'. Ji Chang-wook said, "(Yohan) is a very bad person who is a target and doesn't feel good even if you beat him to death." Do Kyung-soo said "From Yo-han's point of view, Tae-jung is like a cockroach. The vitality is long and persistent, and he climbs up alive even though he continues to step on it.'
Here, the villain Lee Kwang-soo also appears. Regarding his role, Lee Kwang-soo "I think he is the worst person to spit in the script." He's such a hateful person. Whenever I looked at the script, I didn't want to see it, and whenever I saw it, I wanted to convey and express it well to those who saw the points that were annoying and angry. He is the richest person in his role so far. Rather than expressing the rich, he was not just a rich man, but a person with high self-esteem who treated people, so he acted with emphasis on expressing such things."
The thing to see in 'Scarving City' is by far the action. Starting with car-chasing, Ji Chang-wook shows a variety of appearances, ranging from motorcycle action to bare body action. Ji Chang-wook said "I think it was actually another fun for me because there are various actions coming out. I thought the stage was going over. I thought it would be nice if the concept of the action changed for each stage. I think I talked a lot with the martial arts director and had a lot of meetings." In addition, Do Kyung-soo said, "Yohan's action point is how to kill a person in a desperate and very cruel way by having a lot of conversations with the martial arts director to create the action."
Finally, Do Kyung-soo "I think our drama is cool. I think it's a work that can relieve stress, so I think you'll be able to see very stormy actions. It's a storm action" raised expectations.
'Scarving City' is a total of 12 episodes, with four episodes released on the 5th and two episodes released every week.
