NCT Doyoung sings 'The Power to Dream' through his second solo album 'Sore'.
Doyoung recently met with Sports Chosun at a cafe in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, saying, `What makes me dream is music,' and `The goal of this album is 'Enjoy'.'
DOYOUNG will make his comeback as a solo artist on the 9th, and is expected to fly brilliantly as a K-pop vocalist. Doyoung, who returned as a solo artist about a year and two months after his first solo album 『Youth's Formal" in April last year, said "Now seems to be less burdensome than when he released his first album. The message the album wanted to give was 'Power to Dream'. So it's an album that made my dreams come true in many ways. I'm going to enjoy it because I'm grateful." He expressed his excitement ahead of his comeback.
The title song 'Hello, Space (Memory)' sings of our hope that the brilliant moments we have together will remain in our memories for a long time. In particular, as he wrote the lyrics of "If You Can Run Beyond the Universe" in his first solo album, I wonder what "Universe" means to Doyoung.
The universe of 'Hello, the universe' is different from the song of the new spring' universe. It happened to overlap. 'Hello, the universe' is a song about memory. There are memories that have disappeared, and what is impressive remains as a memory. There was a setting that something memorable seemed to become a memory. I thought it would be good to use this as a lyric material. In making these lyrics, the universe feels like the epitome of memories and memories. And goodbye can be both hi and bye, so 'Hello, Woojoo' became the title. It seems that the universe came to be used as a transcendent word in the song of 'New Spring.'"
He explained the role that songs can play in the process of remembering memories.
"When I drink coffee at a cafe, when I'm with music, I sometimes get impressed, and I think that's the power that music gives me. I want to be a person who does such music."

The process of selecting 'Hello, Woojoo' as the title song was also reversed. Doyoung first met 'Hello, Woojoo' during NCT 127's tour 'The Momentum' held in Los Angeles in February.
"I think it's acceptable even if all 13 tracks are the title songs of DOYOUNG's second album. As a result, it took a long time to think about selecting the title song. Until then, when working on the album, there was a fact that the title song had to be decided to close. We started 'Hello, Wooju' in the form of a demo with a 30-second keyboard melody line, and it was when we went to the LA concert with NCT 127 that we received the sound source. During the North American tour, I made a verse 1 while talking to the writer. In the process of producing that amount, I performed, and then competed with another song for the title song, and 'Hello, Woojoo' was voted on."

Following the first album, 10 songs were included in the second album. Including the title song 'Hello, Wooju', the song is about how people feel in front of their freedom and dreams 'Comforting People' who sing the contradictory feelings they feel in front of themselves, 'Goyo' for those who are trying to protect themselves in an uncertain world 'SONET';'SAND BOX' that gives a small boost to a hard life 'SAND BOX'; and the promise to meet again in the future 'Waiting in the Future' through a total of 10 songs.
Doyoung said "I wasn't going to put a big standard on the number of songs again this time, but it's amazing that 10 songs got it right again this time. In fact, more songs were almost included, but there were many genre overlaps and exits at the end. Even after the first album, the music you sent me as a target has increased quite a lot. I think it's an opportunity to include a variety of songs," he nodded.

If the first album 'Youth's Formal' led to sympathy by singing the feelings of youth, the second album 'Sore' goes one step further and contains the ambition of flying together. As music is the beginning of dreams and the driving force of realization for Doyoung, this album wanted to convey the power of "dreaming" to listeners as well.
"In the first album, I wanted to capture something about youth and various things I feel in youth. So I thought about what to do in the second album. However, there was a determination to do something beyond the first album. I think of youth as a certain age group, and I wanted to tell you that it's a dream when I thought about what I could do regardless of my age group. I started worrying in my youth, but I wanted to do something that flew like wings. For me, the power that makes me dream is music, and while preparing for this album, I think there are various energies that music gives. I think it's different every time, but when I listen to music, sometimes it makes me want to get up even if I lie down, or even if I want to give up, I think I have the power to do it again. There was a determination to gather such music. "I hope that even one of the songs in the album has the power to start over."

For him, music was everything in life.
"I never thought I'd do music in my life. I've been living with a vague mind that `I have to live while singing.' It has naturally become a dream all along. After releasing the first album, the most impressive thing the fans said was 'You save someone with your music'. I think it will also be my strength to be able to dream and support music after being told that doing music, which was a very personal dream area for me, will be a form that can raise someone."
As the album was filled with music that I wanted to play to those who dream of being in flight, I did not miss the question of Doyoung's 'wing'. The actual track 'Deep Sleep' contains the contents of preparing wings for emergency. DOYOUNG says, "The better, the better, isn't it?"I still put no limit on it now." Just as successful artists want to do better..."

Regarding the goal of this album, I thought that I wanted to exclude music that overlaps even a little, with no reason for existence, with the idea of not being told that it was disappointing than the first album. I thought that I should do a similar kind of music next time even if it's so good. There was a comparison target of the first album, so I thought to do better. I wish it would be more mature than the first album."
Then "This time, they say 'Enjoy it as much as they can, but I want to enjoy it." I don't feel any stress, I don't feel any pressure. I want to face myself who is well prepared accordingly. Now that it is in the order of releasing its second album, when you listen to the album, I hope that the identity of 「Doyoung is doing this kind of music」 will be clearly imprinted on people.

Finally, he pointed out the meaning of releasing a solo album. "I turned around and thought about the first album. My song is so good that I'm so thankful. To the point where you'd be disappointed if you listened to it in a different voice. I think that's what solo album is about. Being a really good song to be my song, making it more pleasing to really please. Of course, the people who listen to it and the fans think about what music is for them, but when it comes to releasing a solo album, I think I think a lot about myself. What I wanted to do, and I think that's how it's made."
DOYOUNG's second album 『Sore" will be released on various music sites at 6 p.m. on June 9.
