'Confirm through dreams and become one through music.' NCT, which was born in 2016 with this huge worldview. And in that first narrative, there was Doyoung. Doyoung, who debuted with NCT U's '7th Sense', was the beginning of NCT, which expanded into numerous units, and the first voice of the world view of 'Dream'.

Ten years after that, Doyoung talks about 'Dream' again. Now as someone who wants to be 'the power to dream'.

'NCT Representative Vocal'Doyoung returned with her second solo album 'Sore' in a year and two months after releasing her first solo album 'Youth's Formal' in April last year.

"I don't think it's more burdensome now than when I released my first album. The message the album wants to give is 'Power to Dream'. It's an album that made my dreams come true in many ways. I'm going to enjoy it because of that appreciation."

The title song 'Hello, Woojoo' sings of our hope that our brilliant moments together will be remembered for a long time. Above all, DOYOUNG, who wrote the lyrics of "If You Can Jump Beyond the Universe" in his first album song "New Spring Song", draws attention again by bringing up the subject of "Universe".

The universe of 'Hello, the universe' and the universe of 'New Spring Song' are different from each other. Coincidentally overlapped, 'Hello, Universe' is a song about memory. There are memories that have disappeared, but what is impressive remains as a memory. I wanted to write such emotions as lyrics. The universe felt like the epitome of memories and memories. And 'Hello' can be 'Hi' or 'Bye', so that's the title. It was written in a transcendent sense in the song of 'New Spring.'"

In the process of turning memories into memories, I said this about the role of singing. "When I drink coffee at a cafe, I sometimes get impressed when there is music together. I think that's the power that music gives. I want to do music like that, too."

In particular, a large number of rock legend artists, including YB Yoon Do-hyun, Jaurim Kim Yoon-ah, and Nell Kim Jong-wan, participated in the album, drawing attention. This collaboration was also a 'dream' for DOYOUNG.

"If you look at the credits, there are a lot of artists who have become dreams for me. I'm grateful to be with those people. So I think it's an album that achieved my dream. I wanted to work with people I respect from the first album. They are people who naturally fit my taste. They were the ones who brought me to the center of the band's music, so it was my intention to be with them."

Created by Yoon Do-hyun, 'Silent' is a song he wrote while fighting cancer, and DOYOUNG felt a special sense of responsibility. "At first, I was looking forward to it, but I felt a sense of duty to hear the story." It's a precious song with a story, so I felt a responsibility to do well."

As for 'Sandbox', which I worked with Nell Kim Jong-wan, I liked it so much that I thought 'You can make the whole color of the album to this song. I talked a lot with my senior while working, but it's a song about how to portray the future with someone you think is precious. I thought it could be a song for the fans, as well as for me and my senior, he pointed out.

The collaboration, which transcends genres, renews the stereotype of 'idol music'. In fact, some people think that 'idol music' and 'non-idol music' are in a completely different world. In that perception, Doyoung is attracting attention as a 'idol' and 's solo artist' who naturally crosses that boundary.

"I think I have a preconceived notion about idol music. It is a preconceived notion that idol music will not have any form. Idol music also has various genres such as bossa nova, reggae, and rock. It depends on who sings it, but I don't think the music itself is different. Every artist is trying to make good music. It seems that the days when everyone pursues musical diversity and speaks as a genre have passed. Although I'm an idol, I think the quality of idol music has improved a lot. I hope you know."

In this way, Do-yeong's second album 'Sore', which makes us look at the essence of music again, talks about 'Dream' as a message beyond the genre.

"The first album tried to contain various emotions of youth, but the second album wanted to talk about something that transcended that. Youth reminds me of a certain age, so I wondered what I could continue regardless of my age. Eventually, I wanted to tell you my dream. I started to worry in my youth, but I wanted to do something that flew like wings. Flying like wings, that's music and a dream for me. Music sometimes makes you wake up, and even if you want to give up, you start again. I wanted to contain that kind of power. I hope that even one of the tracks will give someone an opportunity to start over."

Working on the album was never easy. I had to complete the album with the NCT 127 tour and musical schedule. Doyoung performed and performed musicals at the same time when recording and preparing for the album. It was physically difficult, but I am proud of myself now. A man is bound to do so if he has a deadline," he said with a smile.

"I like to live by plan, but this doesn't go according to plan. Even if I'm ready, it's something that other people can't do. However, I had to do this album, and if I couldn't do it, I thought I wouldn't be able to fulfill my greed. Tours and musicals were the result, and this album was a process. It was physically difficult, but the heart was healing."

This album is even more special in that the enlistment is just around the corner. "I didn't want to give this album a sense of season. It may sound like a summer song, but it is a song that can be taken out and listened to in autumn or winter. If I were to be away, I wanted to make it possible to take me out and listen at any time, remembering me."

Before opening a new page called The Military White Flag, he calmly looked back on his 10th year since debut. Doyoung, who debuted as NCT U in 2016, is already in his 10th year of debut. Recently, junior groups such as Rise, NCT Wish, and Hearts to Hearts have appeared one after another in SM Entertainment, the agency.

"It's been 10 years, but I don't think it's been that long. I just think 'It's been a while since I've done this much. Still, I think I've become a senior because I have a lot of juniors in the company. There's a big age gap (laughs). Still, 10 years doesn't feel long. It was so much fun and hard work."

Ten years ago, Doyoung, who sang 'Dream' when he opened NCT's door, is now the one who hands it over to people. Even while away for a while, Doyoung's music will quietly permeate someone's daily life without going through the season, making him dream again 'Dream'.

"Next year is the 10th anniversary of my debut, and I won't be just sad to have a gap then. Because it's not a sad thing at all. Originally, I'm a person who doesn't have much fear in the void. And I think music is important when an album is released, but also when someone hears it for the first time."
